Although it may have been amusing in the moment to see Clockwork and Serv0 run double sniper and Shade run vaccinator, looking back on it, I actually find it disrespectful. People like me, but much more so people like Dashner, Extine, tsc, uberchain (and dozens more), spend a lot of time trying to promote competitive Team Fortress, with a goal of showing the larger TF2 and eSports communities that competitive is a serious eSport worthy of consideration for sponsorships and viewership.

If Froyotech doesn't want to scrim, that's 100% fine. If they even don't want to take individual moments or rounds seriously, that's also OK.

But if certain people on that team no longer take the game seriously, and care more about some gimmick like Fantasy than the game itself and its livelihood... Then that's a problem. A big problem. And although there's no rules against what Froyotech did, I find it a huge disappointment as a fan of the game.

I got to see Randy Newman perform this live and it was a life-changing experience.

Showstopper just hit a double. The game really is dead.

There shouldn't have been a spread on this game, period. 20b's roster took a hit (grape -> showstopper) over the offseason while $5 traded one good scout for another (freestate -> arcticjoe). Both teams are primarily composed of LAN players, and although 20b would have to be favored, it definitely isn't out of the question that $5 will win. I suspect the odds would have been around 75-25.

Although I liked seeing the unique style you guys played last season, it is definitely true that a more traditional combo (with rando in it, to be specific) should give eLevate a better shot at winning than ever before.

This preview didn't have as much analysis of the teams as I would have liked (stuff like what Alfa said) because I'm in the middle of finals. Next week might be a bit light, too, but after that I hope to start doing MoTW coverage (which is this match this week, although I didn't have time to write about it).

I don't care how crappy the game looks although I would prefer avoiding No Hats. I also want at least 120 fps, even on a 60hz display the game always feels choppy below that (for me, at least).
