It still says Invite on the TF2 page, but on the corresponding CSGO page it says CSGO Professional. So I wouldn't get my hopes up, it was probably an automatic change and means nothing for TF2.
Just remember, anything until the announcement tomorrow is pure speculation. Much better to just wait and see what happens then panic now when there's no real information.
I am pretty sure Ash is leaving voluntarily, but the rest of 20b has indicated that they're done if there's no LAN. If that is the case then 20b sure won't be the last invite team to die.
Enjoys the latest blender technology? idk
This article is so good it literally drove Getawhale insane.
blendtecit actually doesn't matter if invite players pay up or not
+ if I were an invite player I would want to be 110% sure my team was playing before paying $85
MaxillawsI've never seen Grape play Demo before I'd be interesting to see how he stacks up against other Invite Demos
Plat is demoing
kounterpartsIm probably not going to be able to play the first half of the season due to computer issues. However if you guys just need a 6th gamer before the deadline i can fill in and pay for myself to get you guys past the deadline
Same here.
SnazWell, which one of you invite nerds is going to build a super team to compete? Do it for the viewers. Someone take the initiative and start building.
100% agree, but don't just do it for the viewers. Do it because you want to beat Froyo with a passion.
MarxistWe used to get 3k+ for LANs, but that's really died down since the quickfix LAN debacle lol, never really gotten up over 2k since if memory serves.
According to the S17 thread we actually pulled ~3.5K for the grand-finals. Obviously we went down a bunch since then, but the audience is there (it's just not interested in 4G rolling).
Personal anecdote to back the above up: A lot of my IRL friends who play TF2 casually were simply not hyped about this LAN. Back in December I talked a bunch of them into watching S17 LAN and they were intrigued, but in the end understandably disappointed; they don't really get competitive anyway and none of the matches were close enough to be really exciting from a spectator POV.
This season, I tried, but they just weren't hyped. They know that 4G is still around and still dominant, and the interest just wasn't there.
Viaduct hype!!! (Potential spoilers once the match is ongoing)
DreamboatAlkalineScilliantAlkalineStreet Hoops have more than just money and prestige on the line, however. When I talked with Grape, he made it clear that “we would all be interested in attending i55” but also that “we would obviously need to prove ourselves as a definitive second at this upcoming ESEA LAN in order to really feel like we deserved any crowd-funding.”:( they had a pretty solid performance though
I for one would still 100% donate all of savings to see 20b at i55.
3 NA teams to I55? is that even doable?
