Er, this is a bad time to pick up mapping. Valve is about to kill access to the TF2 configuration of the SDK with the steampipe update, and no one knows what will replace it, or when it will be replaced.

TF2 General Discussion
Was Valve contacted about this? It seems weird their blog would be silent on such a huge event.

Map Discussion
Hello all, I haven't been mapping for very long, so I'm not very good at it. On top of that, this map was not designed with competitive in mind at all. However, I am looking for more feedback on how it plays so I figured it couldn't hurt to post here.

Mirrored vs. Rotational Symmetry
in
Map Discussion
Do you have a preference between symmetric maps where the sides are mirrored (Viaduct, Lakeside, etc) and those which have been rotated 180 degrees (Ashville, Badlands, etc)? Do you think there is any real difference in balance between the two?
