#5 best universal interp to use? in Q/A Help
cl_cmdrate 66
cl_updaterate 66
cl_interp 0

alias net_good "cl_interp_ratio 1"
alias net_bad "cl_interp_ratio 2"
net_good

Put this in your autoexec, and run net_bad in the console when you get jitteryness. If you want you can bind net_bad and net_good to a key, or if you really want I can write a little toggle script for you so you can do it all on one button. Just remember it now only works when you are dead.

#31 Favourite areas in maps? in TF2 General Discussion
AbramelinLucky_ShotAbramelinon the dick in cp_boobsI'm gonna be honest, that wasn't funny, or clever.

And I love spire on badlands because every once in a while I'll hit a remotely cool airshot which leads up to me freaking out and hurting everyone's ears in mumble.

dude has obviously never seen cp_boobs

it exists.

Yeah man it's an awesome map. I'm on mobile so I can't find it, but go ahead and just search cp boobs and I'm sure it will pop right up.

#1 AndKenneths Stream in Requests

Streams:
- Stream mostly TF2 content
Yup 2 hours of scrims every night. Sometimes some other game stuff on the weekends or before scrims

- Stream consistently over the course of the week
Been streaming a few days last week and most days this week.

- Provide a link to your stream
http://www.twitch.tv/andkenneth

- Provide a brief description of your stream
Me and some mates just recently started a new Australian/NZ based team. We scrim every night Sunday-Thursday (Saturday - Wednesday US time).

- State your country of residence
New Zealand

- Give a brief background of your league/division/team history
New team, I've been around for ages but never really been part of an active team for a full season. I founded a team even and had to peace out for school. Our current team is looking to be Division 4 in OWL this next season. I personally play medic.

Cheers guys,
Ken

#10 Need a Free Mumble Channel? in TF2 General Discussion
MawrAndKenneth I'd probably say that if you have a fibre connection at you home, go for it. It will probably not be too bad on cable either, just it would probably suffer on DSL because it uses more upload than download.
I actually have cable and I can't handle hosting anything from my home's internet. Could be a router issue possibly, but I know for sure if I was to try hosting a TF2 server or Mumble server I'd be at less than half of my max.

Mumble does use more upload than download (down usage is usersTalking * bitrate, upload usage is usersListening * bitrate, users talking is usually less than users listening) so that could be a factor in that.

#40 How do I get better DM in TF2 General Discussion

Playing at your level or above is the way to improve. All this DM and MGE is a fun diversion but you will never get as good as if you were able to scrim against teams that you lose against, but are able to still hold your own, every night.

That said if you can't play 2 hours of scrims a night, MGE and DM are perfectly respectable ways to have a bit of fun, and at the least as long as you don't start misinterpreting it for "the way you practice" it will have a small net positive.

#8 Need a Free Mumble Channel? in TF2 General Discussion

Mumble is open source, as free as can be. Any voice chat system with a server client architecture is going to have to be hosted somewhere. I'd probably say that if you have a fibre connection at you home, go for it. It will probably not be too bad on cable either, just it would probably suffer on DSL because it uses more upload than download.

The reason skype is free is because it does direct connections between you and all of your friends, skype doesn't have to provide any server except for the handshake process.

AbramelinI ordered an open box PC from Newegg once and it didn't work. I'd say open box deals are hit and miss.

Yeah but won't they replace in this case?

#6 TF2 Sound in OBS? in TF2 General Discussion
ProwerIf I can get a good sounding usb card for 20-30 bucks I would gladly take it if it would fix this problem.

A little more expensive than I thought, but here it is for 40.
http://shop.steelseries.com/us/audio/steelseries-siberia-usb-soundcard.html

There's another one from creative if you want some choice. I can't find the non pro version in the US but in aussie it's 30 bucks.

#3 TF2 Sound in OBS? in TF2 General Discussion

There's always the possibility of using a USB sound card if yours doesn't support certain ways of sound works.

ToastyTHTI suggest updating your sound card driver.

Definatly try this first, but I know steelseries sells a usb sound card for like 20-30 bucks.

#9 ESEA-Invite Power Rankings: Week 4 in News

Remember that it's also map strengths and differences in playstyle that determines who is better than who. Team A can beat Team B can beat team C can beat Team A on snakewater with agressive/passive/unconventinal play style but what depends is how well they looked during those matches. A solid play with a close loss can be indicative of a good team. Shit happens.

#4 New Build, need help. in Hardware

Check out this site
http://www.logicalincrements.com/

The only thing I'd say is that you might want to look for an i5 if you can afford it, as it will give you better ability to upgrade other things later on. I got the i5 3750K so I could overclock it when I get a beefier GPU and go to water cooling. The processor is the hardest thing to upgrade because it usually means a new mobo.

#10 I am looking for a developer partner for IRC in TF2 General Discussion

We have something like this in Ozfortress, but it's just a bot that hangs out in #ozfortress. All you have to do is go !merc soldier demoman and it will show you whenever anyone says !mercs.

This is a better option, but it would need to probably have the approval of the powers that be in the channels you want it to listen in.

aimcan we have a section where people literally dump all their demos where people who make frag clips can claim them so they wont be seen in other frag vids

Stay tuned for something cool out of little ol' New Zealand...

Main issue is storage space once we get the technical stuff out of the way. Someone has to pay for it. Demos are pretty large, and if the site got a lot of usage, it could fill up pretty quickly and get super expensive.

I love the fact that they got in a "real life hat designer" to comment on TF2 hats. We've gone full circle.
