#6 #tf2.pug.na / #tf2.pug 1,000 $ Tournament Update! in TF2 General Discussion

Was this Dingo's team slinky?

If it was dingo's team then it is because they were removed mostly due to the actions of dingo/justus in the #tf2.pug channel (Telling Admins to fuck off mostly think and fzero, offclassing constantly, bitching at puggers and mic spamming) not only that but his words against every admin in pug.na / pug including Thrckstr, Namlay, Mackey, Mythikal, think, fzero and pretty much our entire staff. Because of this we decided that we rather not have players like this representing #tf2.pug in the tournament so all the admins took a vote and removed that team.

Justus was a late edition to your team and has actually been allowed back in #tf2.pug as long as he can hold up the rules. Shifty (not sure if he is part of this team or not but part of the Dingo/Justus/ issue) was unbanned for being a mature individual and apologizing for his actions. Dingo who blatantly aliased to keep playing in #tf2.pug and still caused issues such as offclassing for entire games/ mic spamming and honestly wasting a lot of people's time will be banned for an extended period of time.

I'm sorry to the rest of the players on that team and if you like please feel free to add me on steam (or just message me on IRC) and we can try to work something out as one of the teams can no longer play, it's possible we can allow you to make some roster changes so that the rest of you aren't punished for two of your members.

Sorry for the rant there, just wanted to you to understand why we did what we did. Again our goal is to make this tournament as successful as possible so that the next tournament I can acquire more cash and possibly do a three bracket tournament that's a little more organized (it's our first tourney so we are still working out the kinks)! :)

kirbyAll I meant was the captain -> random -> captain -> random rotation it had was great for the newer players.

Oh yeah we actually have Narf/Java-B/Fog working on implementing that feature into the na bot. It was just easier to integrate it into the na bot then cinq's bot because cinq's bot still needed a lot of other work done to it. Hopefully it will be out soon! :)

#1 #tf2.pug.na / #tf2.pug 1,000 $ Tournament Update! in TF2 General Discussion

Hello!

Just wanted to announce that the round robin stage is now over and the single elimination bracket matches will now start for #tf2.pug! :) Please see the bracket below for those teams in the #tf2.pug tournament.

http://images.challonge.com/tf2pugbracket.png

For the #tf2.pug.na tournament things are still progressing as we are finally at the upper bracket semi-final matches!

Team TLR and Ruwin vs. Vector Gaming
&
Team Name * (cyzer's team) vs. Going Huge (sigma's team)

The lower bracket is going to have some exciting matches with BlueBerryvillian's team SYOPS going against Mustardoverlord's team Community College Clowns.

(Sorry for the delay in this match)
Mythikal's team vs. Mason's team should be a great matchup!

Brackets here: http://images.challonge.com/pugnabracket.png

Site for matches here:
http://www.tf2pug.com/tournament/forum/index.php

Again we are sorry for any delays in the pug.na tournament but we are trying to accommodate all teams especially those that were in i46 or have busy schedules in ESEA. (partly our fault and the next tournament will be in the ESEA off season we promise!)

NEW MATCHES ARE POSTED FOR PUG.NA & PUG, PLEASE SCHEDULE YOUR MATCHES SOON! :) - Thank you again for all your support - Pug.na staff

*off topic response to kirby since he seems to post this on every site and has never heard the coder's perspective*
We actually had a vote and it was a landslide victory for the pug.na bot over the cinq bot. Every coder that works for pug.na / pug agrees that they rather work with pingu's bot because the coding is a lot stronger and add some of the nice features cinq's bot has. That's not to say cinq doesn't have great ideas but as far as coding goes and what other coders have told me the na bot is far superior.

*On topic*
Hi aastrisk, what java b said is correct. The pug.na group is 1200 + members so it's just easier for us to make announcements saying "#tf2.pug needs 3 players" or "#tf2.pug.na needs 1 captain!" I would love to have more moderators for the group though that specifically play pug so if you or others who can be trusted to do so I will gladly give it to you guys :)

As far as why pugs slowed down a bit it's mostly due to the ESEA season and other competitive scenes. It's just the natural cycle of things especially during peak league season. Though that doesn't mean we aren't trying to keep promoting it with our pug tournament and pug.na tournament :)
