WaldoIn 6s, the QF seems pretty viable as a lower-risk lower-gain form of default uber, but from the perspective of someone who only plays 6s, it looks useless in HL. The simple damage output of a heavy would still destroy someone ubered with QF, and even in 6s you couldn't push through a choke with it, traps would still instagib you.
You need to do 189 damage at once to kill a QF ubered medic. Unless the heavy is right up in your grill, he's not going to kill him.
I agree that the QF is less viable in HL than in 6v6 though because you have to divide your attention so much.
kirbyMy point is this nerf was unnecessary as I assume you would agree, and that any further nerfing would more than likely make it useless.
I agree with this central point but IMO it's not as big of a deal as some people are making out (rip TF2, rip soldier etc types of posts are mostly what I'm taking issue with). The main thing is, Valve should buff other soldier melees to make them as attractive as the Escape Plan or at least not totally worthless. Let the Zatoichi be able to collect heads on soldier or something, I dunno.

Having the item server going down can change the result in a match. An item server that works like a white-list for when it does would be very useful
I once joined a pub server that allowed everyone to use all weapons, regardless of the players owning them.
That would work, and would remove the hassle of actually crafting/trading for the items if new weapons are released.
Aren't they doing this with the upcoming 'lobby system' anyway?
MagikarpNot completely a straight upgrade, you can't be healed with it out.
Tested that during a pug yesterday and it's not true, you can still heal people using the escape plan with the crossbow.
Maybe they only changed it for the Equalizer and not the Escape Plan.
I'd like to see advspechud be integrated into the game properly instead of needing -insecure to work.
A spectator minimap would be cool as well. With an overhead view it would be very helpful for seeing who is in what position without needing to switch to their POV all the time.
Having a section of the Steam Workshop dedicated to HUDs would be amazing as well, where you could download them, select or deselect them in-game, and not have to delve through a series of folders to do it yourself.

Not when you're trying to escape on low health after your medic dies.
A lot of the OP suggestions related to pauses are features in Dota 2. Let's hope Valve gets some inspiration from that game to put those features in this one.

kirbyI worded what I meant wrong. I meant they nerfed the Equalizer into a good melee, then they further nerfed it into the threshold of "useful" and "useless".
That's a little melodramatic. Even with the nerf, the Escape Plan is far and away still the most useful soldier melee. These same gripes were raised when the GRU got nerfed and some people switched to the Fists of Steel. The thing is, speed with a chance of death trumps slowness every time.
If anything, we ought to complain that Valve hasn't changed other soldier melees enough (Zatoichi anyone?) to actually warrant their use over the Escape Plan. As it stands, it's still an upgrade from the stock shovel.
