#6 demo health number bug in TF2 General Discussion
quacksBISHOPorangecatfaceWhilst looking at POV demos of mine, noticed a bug with my health when getting healed. Whilst getting beamed my health won't smoothly go up/down instead randomly getting stuck at different numbers, and when getting arrowed there is a delay when the number goes up.

I've tried watching the demos with no cfg/custom on default game settings and still got this bug and it did not occur whilst I was playing. I have also sent a demo with this problem to a friend of mine who also had the same thing happen on that demo when watching it. Would like to know if anyone else happens to know something about this or how to fix this.

I had the same issue, I stopped preloading and it seemed to have fixed it, but all the demos recorded with preloading still have the health bug. Check your autoexec and modules.cfg.

I have the same problem too, are you saying the fix is just not loading up an offline map before you play on a server recording a demo? Or something else?

If anyone else can pinpoint an issue beyond that it would be awesome, it must be some vpk or custom thing that’s loading in when people preload stuff. Not game breaking but still a pretty annoying issue. I forget what’s all in my custom folder but I’ll take a look when I can

What I said fixes it for me when I launch the game normally. However, I noticed I still have the issue when using SourceDemoRender. Nothing that I can see in my moviecfg or customs should be a problem.

#60 TF2 Promod in TF2 General Discussion
GrapeJuiceIIIim not really fluent in the config/modding space but surely we can mod something in that fixes the viewmodel switching when watching a pov demo as well? like you used to be able to put tf_use_min_viewmodels "" into your auto exec or whatever and it would keep your viewmodel settings from changing with whatever your config was when you were playing the game. i think the update that broke huds in october also intentionally patched this out and its pretty annoying when trying to record stuff.

modders take note? or maybe theres a new bypass for the command that people came up with in which case pls share

You can use CastingEssentialsNext and "ce_consoletools_flags_add "command" devonly"
EX: ce_consoletools_flags_add toggle devonly
