The Zalman clip-on is a pretty solid choice for the price.
I recommend the PureTrak Talent - love it.
Any difference between the new Adaros and Hammerheads? Looking for new earbuds.
Bought a new router and modem around two months ago. Best decision ever.
Hello,
For several months now, around every few hours or so, my internet seems to completely stop; not disconnect, but freezes for around 5 - 10 seconds. I can't hear anyone in Mumble during this time, and anything that is happening in-game suddenly becomes frozen. Everything then resumes as normal for a few hours, then repeats.
Recently, this has been happening more and more often. I'm not downloading anything, nor is anyone using or downloading something on their computers. This problem seems to happen more often during various times of the day even when nothing has changed. I'm wondering if this is an issue with my router. Could it be overheating? Something to do with firmware? Just old? Or could it be the modem? My family's had this router & modem for around four years now. I'm thinking of resetting the router in hopes of upgrading the firmware, or simply just buying a new one.
Some info:
ISP: Cox
Speedtest during the lag (I usually get around 20down/20up when this doesn't occur): https://i.imgur.com/CxSugrZ.jpg
Router: Linksys E3000
Modem: Motorola SURFboard SB5101U USB Cable Modem
I'm also using ethernet.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.
So I recently ordered a Modmic for my headphones. For anyone who owns one, I was wondering what you'd recommend for the Mumble advanced options (to use/not use noise suppression, etc.) and what to use for the Windows settings (the volume/dB.)
A little specific, yeah, but I want the most out of it - thanks.

I loved the use of SFM. Absolute fantastic work.
For a lot of people, it creates a stuttering effect when you use an FPS cap. Not using one would be your best bet.
I wouldn't recommend using an FPS cap, it makes the game feel much smoother. (fps_max 0)
If you do choose to use one, to find your proper FPS cap you should use your refresh rate x 2 + 1.
Make sure you don't have any major processes running in the background, virus scans, or any scheduled computer updates. Also make sure you have your graphics card drivers up to date.
You could also try Stabby's Windows configuration guide.
