Can I ask? Me personally I really liked badlands and I know a good mix of older players who liked it and of course folks who just downright disliked the map. Not even accounting into our current generation, what was your dislike for it in detail?

pajaroZakMcRoflpajaroGood. Hopefully better alternatives will be what introduces new players to competitive TF2. TF2Center was a shithole of admin abuse - I think a third of all high level players I know have been or are banned from tf2center, but not a single warning or ban on rglI only became a moderator on TF2center relatively recently and I know there were a lot of bans before me, so I may be biased. But what I observed is that there was a strong correlation between high level players and toxic behaviour towards inexperienced players, fooling around, offclassing etc. Probably because they took TF2center less seriously because "its just a lobby". The same players could suddenly behave in advanced lobbies on the same site where more was expected of them - as is probably the case on rgl.i got permabanned for "cheating" as a mirror from a UGC ban which was not related to cheating at all. never had a tf2c ban prior to that (other than like the occasional lobby i left) and the admins' solution was to unban me from only non-mumble required lobbies, which have always been a tiny fraction of all lobbies. all because warpy decided to randomly check my UGC profile for some reason and contacted an incompetent UGC admin.

5 bucks you was verbally toxic and they used that UGC ban as the excuse, despite it not being a proper reason, and with that in mind, it probably stemmed from them getting complaints with no evidence, recordings and even if they did, it was probably easier to mirror a shit UGC ban and just compromise with you being restricted to non-mumble lobs.

I can’t remember all the rules or how they are handled, but shit like this did happen a lot.

No, you’re right.. Warpy didn’t do shit. He played in lobs and didn’t do shit. I was upset before, but I didn’t think a angel would come in and be like, “yea let formless pugs have a platform” he was 2nd hand to floormaster, the moment this was for sale he should had purchased it flat. You might not get it, floormaster gave us lobby system, he let that die, his platformform pushed tf2 center. Warp let this shit die, he didn’t buy it out, he fucked moderation, he banned people for pub stomping, like it was quality control,

Cookie already brought up people cheating before you shut this down, you had no forum, you had no public platform. The staff doesn’t care. We apparently prefer like having a form of internet attorney, they like having power on a platform that lets them go from a-b, after work and be like, “ok let’s ban this idiot for [what?]’

Warpy you banned for pug stomping but you wait on RGL cheat bans, people have heavy stacks, it’s made that way, friends vs random puggers, wtf do you want?

Lazy support, lack of interest in a lazy ownership. They had plenty of chances of improving things, instead they settled into auto pilot (and don’t tell me fuckin otherwise because you didn’t do shit, you let that forum die support wise so damn early it’s frustrating) you settled into half baked / auto moderation, you let pug groups on discord pickup what you couldn’t, the time put into this site and it’s longevity (let alone it’s DELCLINE is mental). Idk where any of you guys stand, any of you that started this, that ran it into its end, it’s unfair for this community. Floormaster failed us, but you gave us false hope and then some. Well done.

Awesome track, actually made me think about Failure, older band I was really into, in specifics, Fantastic Planet. The irony is like 6 years later I got really, really into Andrei Tarkovsky‘s film work, it was some bud that made me watch Stalker. I had no idea that failure actually made that track based on Solaris. Sorry for the lengthy share explanation, just had one of those “oh shit why I haven’t listened to that band in ages” moments.

SOOOOOAPYMEISTERSpaceCadetInvite and Advanced: I would say shotty more effective overall than gunboats for defending last only. Dmg potential > jumping around. gunboats is def better than shotty on last, being able to jump around to block cap on last holds is more important than your damage output especially if the other team has small ad. at that point both of your soldiers are just stalling the point so your med can get uber.

I get all of that, being able to hustle positions, help a scout close to opening at last, but when it comes to last, what’s wrong with getting tanky? And of course if shotgun pocket is worthwhile, what’s the damage difference between a heavy switch up? Curious to see numbers, what is the average output? Feels silly to suggest shotgun pocket in any situation because god knows what a scout can do, but let’s say if we treat pocket soldier as a damage focused class; how much can two scouts meech from that? I also know wonder what’s better, between reload speeds, is it better to reload a rocket or kill a weak scout, or hell a medic? Does that stand alone cheap shot hustle better? I honestly wonder what is better with that reload speed difference, how much can that change fights?

For the record. When talking about soldier as a damage focused class, not a pick class while roaming. Not some stand alone hustle, I’m talking serious damage between all 6. Peppering everything for scouts to work on.

Another thing I wonder, what would happen if a team practiced old ways, shotgun pocket focused vs scout pocket? DM ALONE is entirely different these days. I know the spread on the soldier shotgun isn’t close, hell not even damage wise, but damn I wonder what a team that slowed it down a bit (not as fun, of course not nearly as aggressive) vs a team with a pocket scout leading uber pushes. I honestly think 4 rockets, let’s even say 2 of 4 are directs, then if still alive, a full clip into a team, say the average push, even a mid fight, combo plus 2, maybe 3 still alive? When I say a full clip, I mean a solid shotgun follow up.

It feels like in the end a pocket soldier can do more damage in a fight with a secondary?
I honestly want to know the damage numbers compared to pocket scout fights, what would honestly add up more.

Or for the sake of argument, do prefer you prefer agressive soldiers with gunboats? How often do you see your pocket switch up to shotgun on last? Anything defensive for that matter, esp longer last holds. With that situation in mind, we see offclassing, heavy / level 3 builds, sometimes a sniper hoping to stuff a uber push. Sometimes you get the old split second situation with a pyro trying to counter a uber.

Honestly it seems like you don’t see shotgun soldiers in play even on situational stuff. The class itself used to be such a primary thing, but of course after the meta changed and a you could drag a medic with a scout at top speed, the meta itself sped up.

So if I had to sum up the situation, do you think shotgun soldier as any place in 6s these days? Situational or not, also curious to thoughts on it in highlander. For a brief time I remember seeing it happen, after the scout / medic speed buff.
