#39 TF2 Update - 10/30/14 in TF2 General Discussion
TheJester#39 I noticed viewmodel_fov 0 doesn't remove hitscan tracers anymore. A friend told me viewmodel_fov 360 does though, if that's what you're referring to.

already edited that bit out :j
i just read (in the thread on the 29th update) that viewmodel_fov -360, paired with r_drawviewmodel 0, disables tracers and viewmodels (without leaving glitches).

cheers!

#37 TF2 Update - 10/30/14 in TF2 General Discussion

i noticed my scattergun now (sometimes) leaves sparks when shooting surfaces/players, while it didn't used to do so.
using 'the' surfaceproperties.txt.
it was either this update, or the 29th one, that changed something here.

i understand "no vag, no penis, no bare boobs",
but a guy's chest? some cleavage? what?

or am i just too european to think that this is silly?

#4 g400 or g400s in Hardware

depends if you notice/care about the smoothing that the g400s has.
but the cable issue on the g400 is something to consider as well.

my g400 hasn't had any disconnect issues. i have my cable taped to my desk in a way to minimise the chance of the cable getting yanked at the point it's connected to the mouse.
i personally am annoyed by the smoothing on the g400s and surely won't get one if my g400 dies.
but i know that plenty of people don't even notice (or don't care about) the smoothing on the g400s.

though, you could also take a look at the newer g402 and g402s (apparantly the g402 had some issues that are supposed to be fixed on the g402s). it uses the sensor that the g100s uses, paired with some new technology to drastically increase the maximum track speed. i haven't used the g402 or g402s myself, but i've read alot of good things about it.

#95 The Keyboard Thread (last updated Sep. 24, 2013) in Hardware
downpourbeen using the POKER II for about a month after my Leopold TKL died (rip) and i like it a lot. sometimes its a challenge to get a certain symbol or function to work, but all in all I'd recommend it to someone who is looking for an ultra space-saving option

#64 Slight freezes in Q/A Help

if this is true then i'm sure that valve has somehow broken something a little bit. i've been using .5 on snd_mixahead for more than 2 years and i've never experienced these short freezes until recently.

i honestly doubt it's snd_mixahead causing this issue for me, but i guess i'll give the default .1 a try today.

A-R-In Bruges is actually really hilarious on a very subtle level. If you enjoy it you would definitely enjoy Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch and Hot Fuzz.

i definitely agree with Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. i guess i'll give Hot Fuzz
a try then :j

KhanTF2Nobody Knows/ Dare mo shiranai is quite a good movie in my opinion, although it's certainly a bit different and may not be for everyone. It's a japanese movie and the music is really well done

sounds interesting, i'm gonna try this one too

check out Oldeuboi, it's great.
also: El laberinto del fauno, V for Vendetta, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, A Clockwork Orange, The Truman Show

#12 Good Shows/Movies in Off Topic

movies!

edypanda__The Grand Budapest Hotel.
Is this movie any good? It's been on my radar of movies to watch for awhile but I'm not sure if I'd enjoy it or not.

if you liked prior wes anderson movies, then you'll definitely dig that one too.
some of his other works are The Darjeeling Limited, The Royal Tenenbaums and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.
in case you're not familiar with his movies, i'd say they're close to being childbook-stories. it's all very innocent and 'cute'. but his casts and his directing are always fantastic. if you're skeptical, then i'd suggest to at least try royal tenenbaums since that one's a bit more on the mature side. but all of them are definitely recommendations :j

and since i saw Blade Runner being suggested, i'll add Twelve Monkeys to it. both are very, very cool movies in my opinion.

a few other cool ones: In Bruges, Fight Club, Memento, Inception, Carlito's Way, Inside Man, There Will Be Blood, Blood Diamond, No Country for Old Men, Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, RocknRolla, Syriana, The Departed, Body of Lies, The Matrix, Casino Royale, Skyfall, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, Iron Man, Scarface
