DilusiveHello all!
Dilusive here with Gaming Grids, we are the development team behind Razer Arena.
CHERRYAgroHerganThey set TF2's webpage to teamfortress2.com instead of teamfortress.com on it's Razer page. Really Razer???
KritzKast is actually sitting on that domain at the moment. We offered to Valve a while back but nothing came of it. Normally it points to one of the "everything you ever wanted to know about TF2" sites like http://community.tf or http://essentials.tf but the link got screwed up in our last server move.
I'm sure Razer-Right will get the message to the right people soon enough.
You can point it to comp.tf or playcomp.tf Show Content
or
saloon.tf, I won't really mind ;)
The intention is that we point to the official site. This was an oversight, sorry, it will be corrected to http://www.teamfortress.com/.
Oh yeah I meant what to redirect teamfortress2.com to :P
DilusivecinderLooks like they're using NA rule sets even for EU.
Is there something wrong with using the same rules for different regions? If you would like to see your region's rules done differently could you please detail how they should be different and perhaps how the changes will improve the flow of a match.
ETF2L rules are generally more international being used in all European, Asian, South American and Australian tournaments and in a lot of NA plus they're more suited for tournaments (as match only takes half an hour) which makes them both more popular and more people are familiar with them.
DilusiveHerganHuh, they're adding CTF to the tournaments, that's cool I guess
Would you prefer we omitted that game mode? It could be fun, no?
As someone mentioned it didn't really work out, but I don't think supporting any additional options is hurting in any way
DilusiveWould a good solution for KotH be to reduce our round count to Bo5 rather than Bo9 or would something different be more preferable?
At the end of the day we could copy the formats and rules word for word from the other leagues which have hosted TF2. The upside of course is that we give people what they are used to and perhaps expecting. How about, instead, we work with you all (the community) to get the settings right and make it a good experience for everyone. If in the end the desire is to simply mimic that which is already available, we will certainly oblige. Let's see if we can't get this right ourselves first?
Yeah I'd agree that BO5 is better as it has a chance of ending in the 30 minutes timelimit.
DilusiveIf we put half time in after round 4 and kept KotH Bo9 would this be agreeable or are we adamant that KotH should be reduced to Bo7 or Bo5?
I just think the problem with BO9 is the same as with American ruleset for the tournament, it takes forever to play one match, but I already voiced my opinion above.
ESEA final with BO3 on American ruleset lasted 3 hours if I recall correctly.
DilusiveI would love to see TF2 become prosperous on Arena, the comp scene has seemed to be waning in other leagues (at least in my eyes).
As Razer-Right mentioned in his previous post; we encourage your feedback and want very much to make the platform and comp experience to be the best it can be.
Thanks for reading my novel!
That's very awesome that you're looking for feedback here. Wish you good luck! Also looking for an API so I may host bets for some of the tournaments with prizes in the future!
EDIT: May I add you on Steam or is there any other way of contact you prefer like an email?
