If anyone from Europe wants a server, they can message me (server hosted in Paris). Mine has the bonus of a sweet plugin that creates a link to the server whenever you post a connect string so you can be that extra amount of lazy:
PetePuoskariIdk if your pistol is just like 10% or something
Bind a key to open console, then press it while you're in a server.
The console doesn't seem to get the focus when you click on it, but opening it via a bind works.
Edit: you said you can't bind a key to it? That's weird, I thought you had the same problem I had.
Lazybear and I talked about this type of scripts and we both agree they're not allowed, so be careful.
Edit: meaning 3rd-party scripts/macros with timings. C-tap in-game scripts are fair game.
That is a script as in an in-game script.
This needs a 3rd party software with specific timings that allow you to hit a c-tap with 100% consistency, which you wouldn't be able to do on your own. Completely different.
In the same way, you could argue that headshotting a player is something that you're able to do, but using a cheat to always hit a headshot is not allowed. I'm not sure someone has gotten banned for this type of script, but I personally wouldn't risk it.
SetsulXL2411Z >>> VG248QE. Can't be bothered to look for the link to my essay on that.
Maybe this? http://www.teamfortress.tv/20038/asus-vg248qe-vs-benq-xl2411z#20.
I hadn't seen it, I looked around forums and people seemed to think they were basically the same and some even said that they prefer the colors on the Asus, but those are valid points. I honestly have no idea about what a monitor with PWM looks like, but why risk it if it doesn't have any upsides.
Thanks for the answers. I'm not really looking for anything bigger than a 24" and this monitor is mostly for playing games. I've taken a look at everything and I'm probably going to get either the XL2411 or the VG248QE, since they're the ones in my price range and are still very much recommended everywhere even when they're so old. Also no G-Sync since it's way too expensive. I will probably play some games below 144hz, but I'll probably just cap the FPS and call it a day. After all, I mostly only play TF2 and Rocket League.
I've had a BenQ for a very long time and I'm pretty happy with it, the only problem it's given me is that the DVI EDID chip got corrupted somehow after several years, but it doesn't seem to be BenQ's fault. Plus I read concerns about the Asus' backlighting and how it gives headaches to some people when enabling blur reduction, so I'm probably going to choose the BenQ. We'll see, thanks for the help.
I don't know if this is dead, since the last comments answering stuff are from too long ago, but maybe I can get some answers from Setsul (or anyone else who knows more than me):
- I'm thinking about getting a new monitor soon. What are the recommended ones nowadays? I personally don't care too much about color fidelity since I'm colorblind and I already have a monitor which will probably be better than most 144hzs at it. I'm looking at the 250€ range (could maybe go a little higher if it's worth it).
- I don't mind having to configure the monitor myself (I've heard the xl2411z is pretty popular even though you have to install drivers and set it up). However, I'd prefer it if I could do the same thing in both Windows and Linux (Debian in particular).
- Is the FreeSync/G-Sync situation still the same? I already have a 1060 and I'm not planning to get rid of it anytime soon, so FreeSync is worthless. Should I look into G-Sync monitors or is it still not worth it?
- Anything else I should know that has changed/is about to come out/etc?
My bad about the 300%. Even then, and even if there's a meaningful velocity cap -which there shouldn't be, since it'd mean no pogos/speedshots-, it will make soldiers very hard to hit with hitscan, not to mention projectiles.
To be honest, the new mantreads look very powerful too. Take a look at the videos posted and realize that's at 200% airstrafe, not +200% (300% in total). It's not only the turning, but also the acceleration you get from strafing. Then think about a soldier jumping your medic in last, basically impossible to airshot and almost immune to hitscan knockback. He will land on your medic's head 100% of the time and there's virtually nothing you can do except having your medic inside the spawn doors or killing him before he lands (from ~260 hp). If the weapon really works that way, I'm betting it gets banned after one night of pugs like the parachute.
After thinking about it for a bit, the Vita-Saw seems very powerful. In reality, most of the time you get an ubersaw on someone, you don't get to benefit from it, since you die very soon after (exceptions are when you get 100% and use it instantly).
With the new Vita-Saw, you benefit from it every single time. You might even start a round with 60% uber and have it ready by the time you get to mid. And I'm pretty sure the mechanic will work in humilliation time...
