Fun fact: with 7,079 logs of games played at the time of writing this, b4nny has played in just over 0.35% of all games recorded!

Bump
We've decided on our main roster. We're looking for one or two more subs now! We have a couple players who will not be able to play every match, and it's likely we'll need subs to play fairly regularly on a variety of classes. If you have some open experience and are looking to sub for a friendly team who you will play some scrims and matches with, hmu!
the301stspartanWait, I'm out of the loop. Didn't B4nny always tell everybody NOT to switch from invite to Faceit to avoid fragmenting the invite community? Wasn't this literally always his greatest fear?
Faceit isn't running a league, just the pug/lobby service. We only use ESEA for the league competition
really cool, try him out! welcome back :)
i personally Disagree.....
warriordragon12please make an tf2center style unranked queue open to all skill levels so that i can actually have fun with my friends and not be victims to b4nnys life mission to win everything he touches
This was basically old Faceit TF2, and the majority of players didn't like it. It failed for a reason
I have a different perspective from a lot of the people posting here as I didn't play much on pugchamp, and I'm not a high level player so the advanced/invite division problems don't directly affect me. However, TF2PL has been exactly what I need from a pug/mm service, and couldn't find before apart from brief periods when mixchamp was popular.
Each service had its own problems for me.
PugChamp: I almost never got picked, and if I did, it was usually after waiting a long time to play. I don't have enough time to spend in TF2 to afford the amount of time pugchamp wasted for me.
Tf2Center: The system directly incentivizes players to form unbalanced matches. I played so many games that weren't fun because they were a roll one way or the other. This was more of a problem when I was newer to 6s, but is one of the main reasons I continued not to use it often later.
In-game MM: lol
pre-TF2PL faceit: Very few games were actually fun. Without separate divisions and predetermined moveups, the skill of the other players varied wildly.
In comparison, TF2PL has been a complete revelation. I can queue up to amateur and know that within half an hour or so at the most, I'll be in a game with 11 other players similarly skilled with (usually) decent balance between the teams. I've never had that before, and it's a lot of fun. I hope that the system can be improved for higher-level players, because no other pug/mm service has come close to TF2PL for my own experience.
TF2PL clearly has flaws, especially for advanced/invite. The system being ideal for a player like me isn't a good enough reason to ignore the issues present- while I agree with b4nny that some of the conflict is a result of attitudes, the complaints still need to be addressed as well as they can so that higher level players have a system that works well for them too.
Bump! Ted is rejoining the team as scout, and Lemons is looking for other options but considering staying on the team.
We're looking for a demo and medic, as well as subs. Add me :D
I believe Phi has been very busy and had to put it on hold. It's a shame, though, I liked playing on the map the few times I got a chance to. I thought it had a lot of potential
Amazing player and a really cool teammate. He's grown a lot and would be a great fit for any high open team with a good attitude. He has amazing DM and has improved his positioning a lot over the past few seasons- it isn't a weakness anymore. He could play IM for the right team, honestly. Please take care of this gamer for me :)
Veccwow..almost like....7s isnt worth trying in..
yeah it's not like we've had 6s teams soft throw in invite upper bracket finals or anything
let's see how many consecutive downfragged posts we can have. we're at 7 rn
The number one problem that needs to be solved is the queue times. There have to be some issues that are preventing the matchmaker from working properly. Step 1: let us play the game.
Beyond that, I wish they would add basic class restrictions. I don't need them to enforce the 6s meta, but I think a starting point of limiting to 1 medic and 2 for each other class would already be a significant improvement. Tracking ubers is at the core of objective based TF2, and each team needs to have 1 (one) medic for this to work. It's also not fun to play against 3 scouts, for example. I personally would also like demo and engineer to be limited to 1, but this is second in priority to establishing some basic limits that allow teams to play competitive TF2.
PirateerIt's 1pm GMT right now as of typing this; literally 4 hours with no game.
At least tf2pl is coming out for EU on April 1st (monkaS about the date though)
Other criticisms notwithstanding, the matchmaking is probably just broken right now. Every time they release a major update, it's nearly non-functional for a while. We'll have to wait for that to be fixed before the queue is usable
