Would totes make it. If I get my G2 by then, might be able to offer some rides though I can't guarantee my driving won't lead to your deaths.
Tron's a beast.
How did you feel about your season? What were the good and bad points?:
I joined a completely new team at the beginning of the season, I was pretty hopeful since it seemed we were doing okay in the tryout scrims but as soon as the season started, scrims became non-existant. The team died and that was about it.
How do you feel about the logistics of playing scrims and matches?:
Matches are pretty straightforward. I wasn't the leader but we had trouble getting scrims. As a new player in ESEA, I have no idea how to go about this and I'm going to be leading next season so I probably need to find out. Are the scrims scheduled with other teams? How do you go about this?
What do you think about the distribution of skill in ESEA?:
I think Open has way too wide of a field. Considering there isn't really any LAN stuff other than in Invite, I don't think the logistics of adding another division or two to split up open would be too difficult. I might be wrong but it seems logical.
Will you be playing in S19? If not, what is stopping you from playing again?:
I will be playing again.
How do you feel about how ESEA compares to other leagues?:
I think the fee is a tad steep but the experience is relatively professional.
Are there any specific resources you feel like would help you as a player?:
How to do things. I know how to play the game. I don't know how to do anything in the league outside of it. If you're a leader, where do you get scrims. I had trouble figuring out the client when first using it. A video or even a text guide on a basic runthrough of things-to-know would be helpful.
Would you recommend people to play ESEA? If so, under what conditions?:
Sure, if you want to compete in 6s.
What's your next goal?:
Have a team that doesn't die next season.
Hiya. We're the Corn Ducks.
Scout: DayNife
Scout: Wags
Roamer: P3nguin
Pocket: ???
Demoman: ???
Medic: ???
So we literally don't have a combo. We're aiming for mid-open level and we'll be looking for players who do well and are fun to be around. To accommodate for highlander, we'll likely be having scrims Tues-Thurs and maybe Fri/Sat.
Add me for tryouts.

Air_DayNifeHey man. A little bit of input from a lower level player. I notice that half the players are invite/im level. I'd totally be willing to play but it seems a bit intimidating. Thoughts on splitting skill groups at all if there enough players?either get smashed when you get picked or go find a lower level pug skill group
This pug system is a lot simpler to figure out than the irc stuff that every other pug group uses. I understand that this was made for people who used pug.na, higher level players, but if you make the system available for lower-level players who are sick of center, it'll help a lot of people make the transition.

A lot of people are posting in this thread saying that it's completely fine to play at a young age and to not worry about people laughing at you. They are right. I know a ton of kids who I've played with who are great fun and are cool to hang around with. On the other hand though, there are some things you should try and keep in mind for other people's benefits. These may not apply to you but its stuff that I sometimes find make it difficult to play with some younger kids.
Don't go off on long stories about stuff you did. I know, it's a natural thing to want to let the world know of your achievements but for a lot of things, people don't really care and it can be bothersome to listen to. Unless you're close with the people or they're on your team, it may be a good idea to not talk for the sake of talking. Small talk is a skill you pick up as you get older but you should practice it by interacting with friends your age instead of on the internet.
Don't mention your age. I know I hear a lot of kids in pubs and lobbies say stuff like "My last team didn't like me because I'm 12".
1. We don't care.
2. It doesn't matter.
3. People might start making fun of you because of it.
If you play well, call well, and don't grate on anyone's ears no one will care that you're young.
Don't talk about how terrible you are at the game.
1. We don't care.
2. It doesn't matter.
If you are talking with your team and discussing your flaws and stuff you have to work on, that's cool. It's important to recognize your shortcomings. If you're in a random center and you're just talking about how bad you are at the game though, chances are, people don't care about it. Do your best and try to improve and that's all we ask.
These might not apply to you at all. You might look at these things and laugh because you don't do any of this. If so, great, enjoy your time in competitive. If you're not sure though, take a look at this and try listening to yourself when you talk in mumble and stuff. If you do that, you'll help yourself have fun, but also help everyone else have fun too.
Teamliquid has a Starcraft fantasy league. It's based on purely wins since it's a 1on1 game but it could be a useful to look at. Basically, they assign points to certain players based on how good they're expected to be, and each fantasy league participant is assigned x amount of points to allocated for x number of players for their team. The system doesn't have individual leagues for a group of friends but rather, is one big league for all participants.
DaStabajThere was a team made of mid-high open players who rolled silver even though they had little to no HL exp. granted. They had freestate on scout.
I feel like you're talking about corn ducks since we had freestate on our silver 6s team but we had no open players and we were actually mainly highlander players.
miwoAs it should be.
Any other major league sport would give out the same punishment for match-fixing.
If you look at the starcraft 1 match fixing scandal, people were actually fined by the government for this shit. Some of the bigger fines were up to approximately 12000 usd.
What class and what was cool about the deck?
You make a lot of great points, and I agree with a lot of what you say, but I don't believe that TF2's competitive scene is completely disconnected from its casual. Personally, I started playing competitive as a direct result of playing in pubs and I don't really see the appeal in a game such as CS:GO. The features that make TF2 unique for me at least (movement-based close-range combat) are pretty much the same in both competitive and pubs. I think there's a huge pool of players in the casual scene that would love to get into competitive TF2, and not something like CS:GO.
I don't see the point in making judgment calls on whether it will be good or bad when it's nowhere close to release. If it's good, great, another shooter in the same market as tf2 that will be fun, and will provide incentive for valve to get their ass in gear for tf2. If it sucks, literally nothing changes.
Since the deadline's coming up, I'm going to open myself up to playing med. I haven't played it at all before but I feel that I could do fine.
