SassyTheSasquatchflyingbuddyGenerally a pretty decent survey :)
I think a good question to ask is "do you believe fps configs and r_drawviewmodel command should be allowed in matchmaking?"
So that valve can realise that nearly the entire fucking community doesn't understand why they are locked
The problem is that the competitive community is actually a small part of the whole tf2 player base so really they are making competitive for the casual people that probably wont even play it because they just get rolled every game because there is no rank calibration.
I think that's one of the biggest issues with matchmaking. We want that pyro with 150 hours in the game to be playing matchmaking over and over again, but even pubstompers will push the newer playerbase out of matchmaking. Compare that to CS GO where even the newest of players have a place to go in matchmaking.
aslYo. If we're going for the Reddit outcry tactic can we make it something more important than viewmodels in an uncompetitive 'competitive' match making?
It's not like they're forcing viewmodels in leagues. MM with its current ruleset can't be taken seriously in the slightest. I can't believe viewmodels are the number 1 reason people are refusing to play matchmaking. Personally, I find it more annoying to play a 10 minute match on a Singapore server after waiting 5 minutes for everyone to join, after queueing for 5 minutes, only to have someone abandon making it all a waste of tf2 time.
I shit you not my queue got 9 abandons in a row when we were winning. It got so bad we ended up letting the other team win one round so if someone left we would still have time to win.
bl4nkpeople who can aim vs can't
It's funny because you can apply this to both gunboats and shotgun.
I can't aim rockets

this is bait
Set a max ping. This simple change will make the game magnitudes better for Australians who would rather wait 10 minutes than play on a Hong Kong server with 300 ping.
All I want is the option to only play with less than 70 ping
aslThe only populated community server in aus. is an insta spawn upward that spams adds every few deaths. Shouldn't that be right up his alley?
And the Muselk server.
I have an irrational hatred for shorts
toads_tfclckwrkit's more the people who are still willing to play this game and can (could i suppose?) be introduced to competitive through matchmaking. when you still have people willing to play your game for any reason and have the ability to bring them to the shrinking competitive playerbase, the game isnt "dead."fahrenheitI'm honestly still really amazed at how many people still have the "TF2 is a dead game" prerogative even though it's literally always been as popular as it ever has been.
http://store.steampowered.com/stats/
The game hasn't lost anybody because of this sentiment (even gained people arguably), but it creates a more cynical community.
lol it's even more amazing that people like you still give steam stats as a valid argument against the phrase "dead game," as if that phrase is directed at the entire 13 year old trader, hat hoarding playerbase and not the diminishing paucity of competitive interest in the game from top players and organizations alike
plus most of the people who say "TF2 is daed!11!!1" are those same 13 year old hat traders you mentioned, and they don't even know about the section of tf2's playerbase that actually is dying (which is what i'd call tf2 right now, all in all.)
I agree, keeping our current competitive playerbase is important but not as important as introducing fresh meat. I was that 13 year old trader 4 years ago.
I think most of what he says is true tbh
We had a year long beta and still end up with this, there's no excuse.
I personally could not care less about replacing Valve pubs with Casual, but I understand why so many of our playerbase do.

fahrenheiteeethe classic "ESEA players don't understand TF2" post that also dickrides valve
"valve knows more about their game and how to balance it than the players do"
