#1 [Help] MGE servers? in Q/A Help

I've been trying to play MGE, but I'm having problems connecting to most MGE servers(they get stuck at "retrieving server info" for over ten 10 mins (never waited longer than that. All other servers that I've tried are fine.

For some reason, I can connect to this server: 74.91.120.40:27015

But not this server: 162.248.88.87:27090 or any other servers that I've tried.

Any ideas?
Thanks.

#27 Ratz Instagib on sale! in Other Games

I played quake for a couple weeks, but found a rail-only server 2 days in and played nothing but that for the rest of the time because of how addicting it was. Add in the RJ's, and I can't think of a more instantly appealing game. Definitely getting this.

obe_Reminder of summer sale etiquette: if the sale lasts until the 22nd, wait until the 21st.

But can you bear the weight of having to keep your hands off it for that long? :D

AP Latin. I played DnD every class with friends, it was great. Don't question it, it was just fun.

#12 High skill level pub server balance in TF2 General Discussion
RaytekClass limits are a great start

Not on valve servers though, although I could definitely see this on community servers. NISLT needs their clips of madness and mayhem, after all.

RaytekI just want to play 2009-era pub TF2 when we had more people talking.

This right here is the reason I got seriously liking TF2 (although I joined in 2013), people using the talk system. I've found, though, that if one person says something, anyone else with a mic will feel freed up to talk. I've gotten whole teams talking together just by giving one comment about a sentry placement. People will talk, they've just gotten used to not communicating.

#15 Laptop for College (fall 2015) in Hardware
Knuckles_Every non-mac laptop I've used or known the owner of one, after ~a year the battery life is reduced to 30 minutes at most if not requiring to be always plugged in.

You just have to know what battery type is being used in the computer you're using. I still get 3-4 hours on a charge on casual web browsing on my $450 toshiba. Sorry that I don't remember the battery name. I know the issue you're talking about, I had it on my old brick Dell laptop, but the one that I use now doesn't have that issue at all.

Wholegrainu know people say the same about us, who've played this damn game for 8 years now

I've gotten 4 people in the last two weeks to start playing TF2, and I've only played for a year. Huehuehue.

#6 Arbitrary Frame Freezes [Help] in Hardware

Freezing problem still occurring. Turned on net_graph 1, was amused to see it still active and showing over 110 fps while I sat there, frozen. I recorded a demo while I practiced rollouts, it only took ~2 minutes to happen. https://www.dropbox.com/s/o7y23xlp8s0wtn5/20150524_2027_cp_process_final_red_blu.dem?dl=0

Fast-forward through until near the end on the run where I fire the critical sticky. My game simply locks and refuses to accept any movement commands. It's a really weird problem, and I'm not even sure how to describe it.

#5 Arbitrary Frame Freezes [Help] in Hardware

it might have been a java run-related issue, as because of the pingtest, I learned that I needed to update a couple applications. The packet drops ranged from 0-5%, and the mumble is necessary for team comms. Thanks for the help, I'll be checking if that works.

I believe the sound shuts off entirely, but I'd have to check.

#1 Arbitrary Frame Freezes [Help] in Hardware

I've been having a very strange problem lately that's made playing TF2 completely impossible. Recently, while playing MGE and on a server that I own (I haven't tried joining any pubs lately), I've experienced periods of time where my game will freeze while other applications such as Mumble as well as the Steam Overlay remain active. Outside of these moments, there are no problems, i.e. my ping and FPS are fine. I tried connecting directly through ethernet, as I'd been wireless previously, but it still solved nothing. Before this problem occured, my game would not freeze, but I would experience large lag spikes (jumping from ~40 ping to ~180+). Is this just a router problem, or a game problem, or what? I'm a technological illiterate, but I would like to be able to play lobbies without timing out every 90 seconds.
