i feel like the problem for NA here is that the structure your leagues have demands you guys to have a bigger mappool than both EU and AU which only have 7 instead of 8 and even here people complain a good bit about the "awkward" map we have each season (and granary) and by having more maps it will just lead to even more of that

Yeah, with the current justification the lack of a full season should give place to test cups but much less people will care about something like that and/or play much less serious in cups to the point that there would be less and less productive feedback than if you were to have S37 be the test period and just have no "interesting cups" instead.

like i can kinda understand the Data Restoration point but everything else is just so not relevant, the next season and "promod testing period" dont have to be mutually exclusive things at all (we already jumped head first into alot of changes this season), LAN next year maaaaaybe conflicting scheduling wise is a moot point when there is no guarantee it will even happen in the current state of the world

normally im fully on board to have just that bit more time between 6s and HL season so its less stressful for people that play both but like almost everyone has said already, not having a proper season for the rest of the year is legitimately harmful for the scene and i dont understand how that is not something anyone on the admin team can instantly recognize.
Cups dont drive the same engagement, in an ideal world they would but with the structure of the competitive TF2 scene they will always be seen as lesser, and i dont think that even the direct lack of a season to compete in would change that fact.

If the current outcry against this decission hasnt been enough to make the admin team aware of how much the community is against the currently scheduling plan then idk what will even make them reconsider at this point, nobody wants this.

whatever ETF2L actually plans to do now, there needs to be some certainty. Normally people would know that once the season ends, about 2 months later there will be another one. Some structure for the rest of the year other than a Nations Cup needs to have been established by then.

especially in lower divs people get shuffled between/kept in divisions against their will all the time tho (plenty cases just this season), was there any good reason for the handling of div3 last season other than certain teams threatining to disband right away if they arent allowed to sandbag, the fact that people are allowed to get away making claims like these and still get their will is ridiulous
