ShpeeismeEvolvingEnviousYes you are, I said it in the thread.I'm pretty sure it's not in the guide... I can't find it at least.

ShpeeismeAre you supposed to remove "Convar." from the commands as well? When I launch my game it says "unknown command Convar.[insert command here]" for all the commands...
Yes you are, I said it in the thread. Not so sound rude.
:) Looking through the TF2 files can do good things, explore a bit, screw around with shit.
Yeah it may sound weird but it's the thread so. Whatevs.
Can't do benchmarking right now.
Mutethere is code in there for dxlevel 50 and 70, if you used those would you go to that dxlevel?
It will redirect to 8.0 because 7 and below is not longer supported.
THIS ONLY WORKS ON WINDOWS COMPUTERS!
Hello, usually with FPS most people buy a better computer or FPS Configs, today it is kind of FPS configs, but theres a new catch.
This is an odd trick I came up with by looking through some game files of TF2, it will reset your graphics to default, but certain threadings and filtering modes to what should be set for your system,
when TF2 tries to modify the graphics for your hardware, it actually isn't 100% for your hardware, some settings are just default and are always like that, but at least this trick for me works, I take no credit in making this, but I do take credit for finding this, it is different for all systems.
What you have to do is go in your Team Fortress 2 files, navigate to bin, and open a file called dxsupport.cfg with Notepad or Notepad++.
At the first line of code you will see "name" "50" and "Unsupported" "1",
on the "name" "50" that is the display of what DirectX that is it will also say DxLevel if you go lower too so I know wtf I am talking about,
Keep on going down to until you get the DirectX version you want, and then when it starts saying codes with "ConVar. at the beginning,
copy and paste the codes in an autoexec.cfg file, remove all the " marks in the codes (No need on the values) and remove the ConVar parts and then save it, and you are done! Just make sure to put it in the cfg folder in tf.
NOTE THAT THIS WILL NOT WORK ON ALL COMPUTERS!
Hey, I am not going to be checking this out, I am not gonna update cause now I am gonna be on my own, and yeah so.
I am just gonna play TF2 or something idk... however, this page will stay available if you want it, remember that this doesn't work on all PCs, it might boost frames on yours, it might not, it may even decrease it. But whatever. Later.
I ain't letting it discourage me, just my head right now is filled with shit right now that I need to get cleared, there is still better things out there.
I am just gonna relax a little bit from this cause there is a lot on my mind and I need to let it out a bit, because I have been doing this crap all week.
Yeah... I probably should reconsider this entire thing... If anything my old one was better. Just wanted to make a config that boosts frames but keeping everything look nice and crap and update every once and a while to keep everything running good, but the chance of that happening now is probably slim to none. I would still probably TRY to help out with these kind of things.
Well if you had previous settings that turned them off commenting them out it won't change anything.
GoofyGorillaIf they just "leave it be" the settings will stay the same from either default TF2 or whatever config they were last using.
fade-EvolvingEnviousUPDATE! Enabled Shadows, Gibs, Ragdolls, and Facial Features by default.
why? don't these make your fps worse? do you have any benchmarks showing the effects of these settings?
This is supposed to be a FPS/Graphics config, this enables a bit of graphics, there is options to disable these if wanted in the config. Not trying to sound like a bitch.
UPDATE! Enabled Shadows, Gibs, Ragdolls, and Facial Features by default.
EvolvingEnviousEvolvingEnviousI did some benchmarking.MagikarpI appreciate your post. I will soon may take some screens, however not this second cause i recently reset my PC and need to reinstall everything because I did some spring cleaning on my PC, but I like your ideas. :)EvolvingEnviousI have them commented out because you are supposed to be able to choose what you want enabled or disabled or just leave it be to have everything enabled my default unless someone edited the config file itself in cfg.Well shit, that might be something good to include in your post lol.
Look, I somewhat appreciate that you are putting some effort into this, but right now it's kind of just pointless and a bit of a mess as most people are not going to use your config since you give no decent reason, differences, benchmarks, and other information about it. Just like GoofyGorilla said, benchmarks would be great, and even screenshots. I think the best thing to do honestly is to add up Comanglia and get some config mentoring or something so that way you can actually learn more about these "special codes". Then afterwards, you can make your ONE and ONLY megathread about your config, differences, screenshots, benchmarks, and etc.
I'm not going to try to discourage you cause I think it's great that there is a new person in the community that wants to help with configs and that we will continue to have these kind of people in the future. Ever since Chris left, I still feel a void in my heart.
So how do you think so far?
