#58 Path of Exile in Other Games

I liked it when I was playing in Beta, but I didn't really have anyone to play with. Also, the first time playing you will fuck up your skill tree.

I will likely come back after the AH shuts down in D3. I hate the game, but people are still buying the shit out of items, so it makes up for it.

blackdiamondbr0Eldritchbig ingin. Let's get that drink soon. If anyone is looking for a combat class, give this guy a shot!
I'll be downtown tomorrow night... let's take selfies in the bathroom.

Selfies? Is that what they call gloryholes now? Anyways, good guy with very random working times/days. Always make sure he promises not to run targe during matches :P

#23 BenQ xl2411t which cables for 120hz? in Hardware
brownymasterObviously you should go for the best quality HDMI cables ever:
http://www.amazon.com/AudioQuest-Diamond-1m-Braided-Cable/dp/B003CT08E4

But srsly, most cables have to pass a certain quality test to be certified.
My television is capable of displaying 480p, and I have a 2.1 surround sound system.

So you can imagine my astonishment after I plugged this into my system - and suddenly my television was rendering at 2160p, and I had full 7.1 surround!

Now the bad:

If you have an older HDMI-capable system, this cable is simply too fast. By which I mean that it transports electrons at a rate faster than your system can handle. This has a strange warping effect - and ends up showing you content from the future. A friend of mine got this on my recommendation, and ever since he connected it to his cable box and television, he has been receiving programming approximately 93 seconds ahead of the rest of the world.

I think that both amazon and newegg had them onsale a week ago for like 75 bucks. They may still be on sale, but I don't think windows 8 has ever really been more than 100 bucks.

Not_MatlockFzeroI'm sorry, but that is not true information at all. You can control incoming data, but you have to learn how to do it correctly. It's not something that you can set and forget.
Then please explain how I can control incoming data. If you can't, at least provide a link that has resources on how to do what you're claiming rather than just saying that I'm wrong.

I am not sure how exactly you want me to show you how it works, since it is hardware dependent and I do not know your specific brand and firmware, so I could only tell you that you're incorrect. I know for a fact that I can limit certain ports, hell, I can even limit certain machines that are connected. For example, all my desktops have unfettered bandwidth, while all connected wireless I have throttled.

#1 Cancelled shows that you loved/liked in Off Topic

or canceled, depending if you're in the US or not.

Something to add to off-topic since it's been a little slow the last few days is the discussion of shows that have been cancelled before its prime. Just list them, or if you want, say what you liked about the show. A lot of us have streaming sites, so it might draw more people into a show too. I like to blame people still using nelson ratings when they should mean nothing anymore.

Here is mine, in order of liking the most to less

1) Firefly
2) Stargate Universe
3) Arrested Development (yes, it came back, but it could've been a lot better if they were able to have the actors/actresses work the same schedule)
3) Tied with Dollhouse. (yes, it had an ending but they weren't expecting to end that season, which is why it seemed to jump quickly)
4) Farscape
4) Tied with Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
4) Blue Mountain State
4) IT Crowd
5) Undeclared
6) flash forward
7) The Event

I am sure I will think of a few more, so I will add later. Also, I kept thinking of more and didn't want to pick that "best" so there is a lot of the same number.

Not_MatlockIt's worth noting that QoS only works for upload bandwidth. There's no way to control the flow of data coming from the internet and going into your router, only from your router to the internet.

I spent hours trying to configure QoS on my router in an attempt to get somewhat normal pings ingame when my brother was surfing the internet and downloading stuff. It didn't work at all.

I'm sorry, but that is not true information at all. You can control incoming data, but you have to learn how to do it correctly. It's not something that you can set and forget.

stabbyfrknstabbyIsn't QoS bad for gaming? No. You prioritize the ports your game uses and it automatically gets priority over other packets. Why would that be bad???I'd been told that so long as you're not using your connection for gaming it can be detrimental to ping. Hogwash I guess.

If you said that correctly, ping really doesn't matter too much outside of gaming really.

brownymasterThis says HDMI 1.4
http://www.msimobile.com/level3_productpage.aspx?id=328

And your BenQ model:

So you should be good.

I guess I looked up the wrong model number, the one I found said it wasn't. I was wrong and you were very lucky :P

The idea of booking tickets right now makes no sense, but fundraising for it right now makes a lot of sense. Even if your team doesn't make it to the LAN, you can still give the fundraising to the teams that need it. I know some people will say that it's unfair that you're fundraising for a potential different team, but I think that needs to be done. I really feel that donations will really start taking a hit soon and this way all teams would be prepared for it.

ishzbtsmakersYour HDMI port needs to be 1.4a/b or better as well as the cable. 120hz is a huge difference from 60hz. Signal converters will not work at 120hz.Well how do i check if i have a hdmi 1.4a/b port?

I don't think any laptops run HDMI 1.4, since there really isn't any need for it for 99% of the market.

I'll vouch for ASUS with DD-WRT firmware, I only tossed it on and tested it, seems to work very well. I bought it as a backup for my dlink.

#87 rip invite in TF2 General Discussion
OOVOOVFzerothrilllower level invite teams should never have lan as a goal. invite to me was just having the opportunity to play against the best players. the goal is to show how you play as a player and teammate. ninjanick, milo, xalox, squid and decimate are only some players in the top teams in invite this season that just took the beatdown of being on a lower invite team and pushed themselves to get on better teams.

if paying 60 bucks each season during that time isn't worth having you improve. then the game isn't for you.

On the other side of the issue, not everyone feels that the price jump isn't worth is worth it. I guess it could just be me, but I could never pay that for invite. I know this a very outside thought, but how long does everyone think we can support 3 LANs a year? I still feel that we need to plan for the future in that case.
invite 4th place prize is 1500 dollars, any team that makes it can pay their own way there by getting forwarded the prize pot.

Let me rephrase that when I am not listening to Bone-thugs, my whole point is this. For the last 4-5 seasons, at least one team has needed money for funding to go to LAN. In the last 2-3 seasons, at least 2 teams have needed it. I just really wonder how people think this is sustainable when most teams don't think about it until the last second.

Look, I keep saying this every single season that invite HAS to look ahead and get donations during the season, yet no-one has really done this. I really do enjoy playing this game, but every single season as of late, about 75-100USD, to get teams to LAN 3X a year. This is not counting money people are spending for Euro trips. All I want from Invite from this point is one single thing, fundraising earlier. Anyways, goodluck everyone, here is a song
