#199 Esea Client Mining Bitcoins in Off Topic

Did you two even read the whole thread? It's in here and if you read some of reddit you will see it too

#193 Esea Client Mining Bitcoins in Off Topic
EmmaWatsonshrtSaint_The value of the mined Bitcoins was $3,713.55 and ESEA will be donating 100% of the $3,713.55 to the American Cancer Society. ESEA will also match 100% of this amount for a total of $7,427.10 donated. ESEA is also increasing the Season 14 League prize pot by $3,713.55.
+ all of the freemium they are giving away, as well as potential hardware? (i have no clue what ESEA intends to do with damaged computers) imo is a decent way to apologize (considering they're losing quiet a few $$$ from this). From what they've told us, it went under everyone's radar, and they are taking precautions against it. We might've jumped into conclusions to fast blaming ESEA for "farming money"
There are no apologies, only justice for committing a serious crime. I don't care how much money they donate to charity, how much they try to "buy" us back, or how much revenue loss their business will face. The people responsible(it literally can not be one guy) for this need to be entirely removed from the organization and be held to a proper act of justice in court.
Unfortunately, they are in the right (at least legally), stated in the Terms of Service.

LOL, you're so wrong here. TOS does not have precedence over federal law.

FzeroRiddleSmart PR move by them, but it doesn't really change anything. It's basically fluff, info we already knew, and an added "we're giving $7000 to cancer, forgive us pls."

And for everyone saying people responsible should be fired:

lpkane has pretty much said it was his idea and fault, and considering lpkane is the co-founder/co-owner, unless torbull buys his stake out, or he steps down (lol), nothing will change.

Again, everyone seems to forget that a lot of people have already filed a federal complaint against the company. Also according to reddit a lawyer has already been contacted.

There is another thing that bothers me is that they say to open a ticket if your shit got fried because of it. 1) how can you even prove it, my gpu died last week for no real reason but how could one prove it was from the client. 2) What about being banned for support ticket abuse? I've been told to stop sending in tickets for alot less

mebharbleudownpourTF2 community getting mad about something and then not doing anything about it

WHERE HAVE WE SEEN THIS BEFORE?
what is there to do about it? unless someone fronts $10,000 to start their own league or the community decides to raise $10,000 every 4 months for a league then there is nothing to do. top teams play so they can play on lan. that is the incentive to be a top team. without the incentive of a lan finals i know personally that many top players would quit. without the game having high level competition it will die. lan is what attracts viewers; invite matches are what attract viewers. if people are talking about the best interest of tf2 then as bad as esea is it is the best thing we have.
This is the first time ESEA is weak. Do you think the TF2 community should roll over for the good of TF2? No, we should not roll over, in fact, this is the ideal time to start making demands from ESEA, threatening to cut subscriptions, and threatening to stop participating in their league unless they change. By doing this we gain power, and by doing this we can bring attention to our needs as a community, for example:

- better servers
- stats on par with sizzling stats
- higher prize pools

If you scare them enough, they will come to the bargaining table. Even if LAN does attract the best and brightest, we have a window of opportunity to get what we want with little risk if our cards are played correctly.

Well, from what I am seeing, they are going to be face deep in shit from the federal government for awhile so I doubt they will even be writing on the forums. Asking for anything now would just be talking to a wall

#6 Gonna put this here in Off Topic

Thank you everyone. I was stuck between waking up my wife when she has to a 16 hour day tomorrow and saying something here. I am glad I made the correct choice by telling her tomorrow, but still getting some feelings out now. No one has to really pay attention to this but I got the call that she was going to the hospital at 11ish-est and died getting at the hospital at, according to the text, around 11:30est.

Gotta love this community sometimes. Thanks everyone

My Grandmother died last night, well around that time since I don't know the exact time. I thought why not toss up a great song in her memory for her that basically raised me. While I have never been religious, she always has been, so I figured I would meet in the middle with an awesome song from a great game and a religious topic.

Thanks for listening.

#7 sick earbud deal in Hardware
aimThey fall out mine also I think it's because my ears are pretty small and I need to go out and buy the right size. But those type of earphones aren't loud either :(

I'm not sure that I would want those type of earphones very loud. I mean they are less than a quarter inch to your ear drum and the caps trap the sound.

Does it just delete Source games, or other games too, like Bioshock?

It's Valve, there is little point of trying to keep a date straight with them. But thanks for the info

Cool and fun guy that is good at the game. How often do you have to text LTF to have it autocorrect it?

#5 g400 vs g400s in Hardware
cyzerI kid you not, with my LAN winnings I paid for an mIRC code after like 15 years of using the damn program and I think I want to buy and play around with a new mouse for awhile.
Anyway, rambling aside does anyone have the new g400s and know if it has any hidden issues that these mice tend to have... I'm torn whether or not to get the newer one or just buy an older g400. Price isn't the issue since they are very similar.
Only differences I can see from google are the coating, higher DPI/different sensor... I say different because I don't know if it's better.

I'm not sure how well the coating is going to be. It reminds me of the first gen G5, seen here

The damn thing was very slick and if you have a little sweat, your hands would sometimes slide off the mouse

#13 What was TF2-comp like when crits was enabled? in TF2 General Discussion

It was really, really annoying. I played pocket the first season and one of the worst things that happen is killing someone that overextended and out of nowhere his/her last rocket/stickie/pipe kills you and your medic
