flatline(Bobsplosion used to visit this website!)
i think you have the wrong audience
Tino_What flatline said. I am 99% sure the people here dont care about the "dank pub maymays"

Okay, sorry. I didn't get that impression at first, I just saw this website pop up and decided posting this would be okay. :(

Any way I can remove these posts?

#1 tf2tags.com - Post your item renames! in Off Topic

Hello! I am new, so if I did anything wrong please tell me. :D

I am here to talk about a once-popular tf2 website (Bobsplosion used to visit this website!) that has since died off and is deserving of more love.

Do you like- no, do you love renaming items in Team Fortress 2? Are you proud of your creative thinking and want to express it? Want people to rate your renames?

THEN LOOK NO FURTHER!

I am here to discuss the underrated, near-dead website known as http://tf2tags.com/. All you have to do is sign in via steam, and you're set! No terms and conditions, no waiting, just your mind ready to create something amazing!

Keep in mind, this is not a website to post dream loadouts/self-inserts, and spam is not tolerated.

The website is very simple to use and understand. The front page consists of the 10 most recent posts, and you can select the numbers up top to scroll through posts.

What this website offers:
1. Majority of tf2 items are available for you to rename (Highlander badges aren't present, however)
2. Search system to find other posts
3. All item qualities and unusual effects can be used (Even impossible ones for certain items. You can post a vintage scattergun rename!)
4. Item sets. They don't even have to be class-specific!
5. Awards page for top-rated item renames for the past 30 days, 90 days, and all-time, as well as contest winners
6. Randomizer that displays 10 random posts (The website has served over 100,000 posts over the course of 5 years!)

The website also has a scoring system based off of strange weapons. If you have two posts with a total of 13 crits (upvotes) Then your ranking is unremarkable, just like a strange weapon! The ultimate goal of the website is to reach Hale's Own, or 8,500 crits. I happen to be a Hale's Own user myself! (Or, at least I used to. I decided to reset and do it again last may!)

Like any good website, tf2tags has rules you must follow. Here are the item submission rules.

Do not post any items that are any of these:

Racist
Sexist
Homophobic
Transphobic
Rape jokes
Use slurs in general
Items which insult other users
Huntsmans named The Lucksman
Shotguns named Kurt Cobain's Microphone
"Downvote this item!" or other items that tell people how to vote.

Those top ones will get you banned. Those bottom ones will likely just be deleted. If you want to make awful items, go buy a nametag.

A basic word filter is implemented which will result in an automatic 24 hour ban for some of the more obvious instances of breaking these rules. Deliberately avoiding this filter with things like leetspeak or unicode characters will result in a much longer ban.

Since this site's creation, there have been a handful of users who have submitted something like 30 items in a row. They've generally been mediocre at best. Nobody wants to sift through one person's content, so submission limits have been implemented.

You can submit a number of items per day based on how popular your previous items have been. Sets count as one item, so you never have to worry about a set being too big for you to be able to post it.

Comments are also limited to prevent spamming. The comment limit is handled just like the submission limit, albeit with different values. Submission and comment limits reset at 00:00 UT.

If you forget any of these rules, look under the "misc" section.

KonceptInteresting idea behind the site. The idea behind the strange stuff could be a nice hit with more casual players. Maybe having a small prize pot for the people that get the most crits over a certain period of time (say over a month period for example) could get you a decent number of visitors.

You see, we actually used to run contests like that, but since the website lost momentum there was almost no point to them. I'm not the site owner or even a moderator, but yeah, I can see if I can manage that.

I would personally avoid that. Jokes like those have been made before on the website only to get bashed.

gloryis this a shitpost y did u put this in dumpster manually

I didn't know where else to put it. Since this is essentially advertising a tf2 website I felt too nervous to put it in the normal discussions. Would I be fine with moving this to the regular tf2 discussions section?
