keep your hands of overclocking.
You will most likely reduce the lifetime of your components by doing it wrong / without good enough cooling (especially the VRMs)
I'd suggest amd just for the sake that I used their products since I grew up and never had problems, despite them being cheaper.
Quad-core and a 2gb decent graphics card should be your goal (gtx660 for example)
I have a phenom x4 945 (95W) and a overclocked hd5770 ( 120W) a 500 GB HDD a 120 GB SSD a DVD drive loads of fans almost passive cooled everything and I have a freaking 350W psu it is almost under full load though all the time but just keep that in mind, anything over 500w would be a waste of money.
