I personally would probably put dK higher up, maybe 2 or 3. I think they are hugely underestimated. A solid, experienced combo and beast of a sniper in axio makes me think they should beat out mTs and bote and possibly knd later in the season. Especially with the limited scrims mTs is showing up to, i can't see them breaking top 3 without a little more effort being shown.

That being said, ginyu should still not win this week against them.

Things are hard to do when people tell you last minute. Not to point fingers or throw out names, but committing to an event and then bailing within the last week or even worse, the day before is just horrible.

If it is casters, production crews, sponsers, competitors or just people who tell you they will be there to help, committing and then failing to follow through is hard to deal with.

its even more frustrating when I genuinely just wanted people to have a good time.

I messaged every single captain every single thing they needed to know as soon as I could. If they did not distribute that information, is that still my fault?

Well the day has arrived,

The 2015 Highlander Draft Tournament is upon us! The captains have drafted and the teams are ready to play. Join us tonight and Thursday for HL draft action as the teams compete for the title. A huge reason for this is to get comfortable with the tournament organization and making sure that I can put on a decent event. However this goes, I do plan on hosting an HL invitational sometime in the future.If there is a lot of support I would love to help or lead the effort for a 6s draft.

A little bit of backround:

I know that Highlander discussion and event talk usually stay within the UGC community, but starting a few months ago I began forming the idea for a HL tournament with a bit of twist. After a bit of spit balling and some help from the community over at UGC. I finally settled on having a fantasy style draft tournament with 2 divisions, Premier and Competitors. The draft will work similarly to an NFL draft with 6-8 captains (depending on how much participation we get) picking teams of 9 players to compete for the title... as well as a prize pool. I want to expand this tournament and really work to try and get the best group of TF2 players I can. For a week join with some friends and try to take home the crown in the first annual Highlander Draft.

Going to try and lay this out from top down starting from what needs to happen and leading into specifics. This is also going to be an invite to help out with the process.

General Info:

Those interested in the tournament will start signing up to play beginning immediately (see form below for how to sign up). Those who are signed up will be put into a pool of players sorted by class and inserted into the draft simulator which I will run during the draft to keep track of picks. In order to have the tournament we will need at least 6 of each class (any fewer and the teams will not have enough players to fill out a 6 team bracket.) Ideally I am hoping for around 8-12 of each class which is why I will be keeping applications very open and not putting strict limits on applicants. The way the competitors division will work is that anyone who is not drafted will automatically be moved into the competitors draft which will be handled separately and be held on a different date (primarily because there would just be to many matches going on otherwise). Captains will be a separate issue and you can read below in the captains section to apply, although I already have a couple people in mind.

We need AT LEAST 6 of each class to have a premier and AT LEAST 12 to have both divisions drafted, Tell everyone who you think might be interested!

Player Rules:

-Only allowed to sign up to play 1 class (Preferably your main, especially if you are hoping to play in the premium division)
-Players are required to play if they are picked in the draft or they will not be able to take part in any other events we put on (hint, there WILL be an invitational in the (somewhat) near future) Please make sure you are free during the tournament dates (again MAY 17th)
-Players MUST have a UGC and/or ESEA profile with at least 1 recorded team to play. This is to hopefully limit alts and prevent captains or other players from cheating the system
-All skill levels are welcome to APPLY, however know that you will not get picked without if you are clearly out of your league.

Captain Rules:

-Captains will have to apply additionally with what division they hope to captain for (Premier vs Competitors) and will ONLY be allowed to partake in that divisions draft. So if you are a Competitor captain, you WILL NOT be allowed to play Premier and vice versa
-Captains are going to be held to a higher standard as far as communication, as they will have a couple additional times we will all meet to set up the draft.
-Applications to be a Captain will be open to all classes, however I will be leaning towards support classes and spies (Heavy, Engie, Pyro, Spy and possibly Medics) The Captains WILL NOT all be the same class
-Captains should have a general knowledge of the league and substantial knowledge of the player base they are drafting for. I.E Plat leaders are more qualified for the most part than gold players to pick a premier team

Casters:
