bearodactylHedgeTery and I were researching this issue, and apparently some people in the same situation have had success buying powerful external wifi adapters with antennas.maybe ill just return this then i was looking into them but they were more expensive and didnt know if i needed to shell out the money for them
think ill test with my laptop to see if its the computer or not
I asked one guy what works for him on his dorm wifi and this was his response: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MX57AO4/ref=s9_acsd_hps_bw_c_x_1. Might not solve your specific issue tho who knows.
