I suppose it's best first to email them, see if they're even interested, then find out dates they have open. If people aren't going away the Civic weekend, and they're open, that seems to be the best time.

AlkalineI've been looking for an excuse to visit Toronto, so I'd definitely go so long as the weekend they choose works out.
I have not sent out an email to the venue yet, as I was wanting to see feedback from people first. I have something ready to send, and will be doing that in the next couple days.
As for a date, I would prefer August, however I'm really stuck for dates in August. The first weekend is the Civic Holiday, and if people aren't away that weekend, there's also a strong chance they would be running other events. The weekend after that, I will be camping, then I will be out of the city for two weeks.
The last weekend of July (25-26) would work for me if I'm not working at a Pan Am Games venue on the Saturday. That has yet to be confirmed.

SheorkI don't know about an eSports bar, but I do know a bar opened recently (Ossington I think?) that has consoles and whatnot just set up randomly.
Do you happen to know the name? Because thats the area where the bar I was reading about wanted to open, its founded by some waterloo grads
Ossington is on the western side of downtown and goes to Davenport (south of St. Clair)
Sheo also linked me this https://www.facebook.com/MeltdownToronto which given the information they have posted, will open on College St. which is also downtown-west. Very close to me, I like it!
