Played the beta also...
from what I remember:
I still have no idea how crafting functions
You use machines to craft parts, then you use the machine again to put together the parts to make anything from medpacks to new frame parts.
From what I've heard, there's no point in crafting anyways as the better weapons are easier to find with drops. So no grinding for resources and such, but I don't know if I can call a pointless crafting system a positive.
As usual, crafting allows for targeting a specific item to get. And the way you get resources, drilling, also nets you a "defend the vip" minigame where you defend the drill against a horde of creatures, resulting in more exp and other drops on top of the exp the drill gives you
F2P is... absent? This is where I think I'm missing out on some game mechanic, as there currently seems to be no point in buying the game currency. I guess you can get a cosmetic item or a pet or something, but I haven't noticed any other things you can actually buy with real money.
You can buy frame parts and upgrade paths for that frame with money
PvP is missing???? Possibly to be added soon? I really don't know.
PvP exists, at least it did in beta. Just take your typical gameplay, stick several other players on the same semi-small map, and you kill each other.

Also, gliding is fucking fun. Too bad there's no easy way to gain height outside of the jump pads (which are craftable by the way)
mkl are u joking or what i dont get it
the 100% surefire way to never ever be good at this game or understand how it works is to listen to anything thief says
you are dooming yourself
get out while you still can
How to use it; it's not like I main scout/ScoRes. And I don't mindlessly take his words on these weapons for gospel either. There's no way the ScoRes will be better than Stickies on an offensive.
I haven't talked to Thief ever since I bashed him somewhat on this forum. That was a at least a year ago.
smobodoesn't he also love calling people the n-word? I heard only friendly, intelligent people do that
Not just the hard R. Pretty much every derogatory term between that and black will be used. "Jungle" is a term that is used a lot though.
The best things I got from him were how to use both the FaN and the Scottish Resistance. And a much higher level of apathy regarding personality; don't hate the guy, but I can't say he's a good influence either.
DavidchoiKaeyelBrother has gigabit up and down at San Luis Obispo; the benefits of going to school on top of an internet node. How's UCI as a school? I've been looking at it for my major, just wanted to see how it is in your opinion. And Mesa court or middle earth?
I went to UCI and had 10 MB up and down, even at the off campus housing.
I didn't really join any clubs/groups or go out much, so I can't really comment on that side of things.
Any major in particular? I graduated with a BS in Comp Sci., it's nothing like the CS courses my brother takes at SLO. Lot's of bio people though.
Mesa Court is a bit away from pretty much every classroom, but if you need open space, it has it in spades. Several of the dorms even have a piano, though its usually out of tune. Not sure how the cafeteria is now, but 4 years ago the entrees were meh, but the breakfasts were the best (waffles/omelettes/etc freshly made).
Middle Earth is right off of Ring Road, which is basically at the middle of the campus, so you have easy access to your room and classroom. Downsides are less space and more noise. Food at ME is definitely better than MC though.
Regarding the cafeterias, you're not locked to your location. You can take your meal card, walk to ME from MC and swipe in there to eat if you're inclined.
Oh yeah, don't torrent. While the IT dudes don't care, they have guidelines they need to follow. I BELIEVE you can get a mobile torrent client, walk it to the library and get it there though. Don't quote me on that though. Bringing your own wifi router is also against policy, but again, they don't really care. The sticklers will probably ask you to remove it though.

I get a lot of mental disconnect between the smooths and frags (no issue after 2:00 though)
You show us a smooth of a demoman walking on badlands mid, and the next clip is a demoman pushing river on gully.
The gully sequence at ~1:10 didn't make sense to me until I rewatched it a couple times. At first I thought Kifran was the blue demo, then the next clip is him piping a blue soldier. The cut away from the airpipe to the nipple also didn't make any sense.
The smooth of the demoman walking to process mid also had no relevance to the frags following it (1:30)
I would agree with hithere that the speedups/cuts sometimes made the frag hard to see. Though I think the film burns are appropriate with the music.
Mained demo because it was, at the time I started, not as popular as scout/soldier (and arguably still is). Kinda grew into it.
In pugs I play the idiot roamer that does stupid jumps just because. And Market Gardener.
sky_Cutting to the top in steel? I dig.
And I thought doing it in IM was a bad idea already
If they're whining about getting destroyed by stickies, you're doing your job as demo.
If they're not, why are you missing?
PlatinumI don't think a damage reversion is necessary but they could change from a damage ramp up to an equivalent blast radius ramp up so that air dets require accuracy to do full damage and can't shred teams so easily
KaeyelHow's this for an idea?
Minor nerf to damage (-10/15%)
Switch ramp up to blast range instead of damage.
Less AoE damage , sticky traps are still useful, and you have to somewhat aim stickies. I'd probably decrease clip size on top of that too.
I honestly don't understand the reasoning for adding ramp to stickies all of sudden, even if it was hidden before; if the problem was that demo was doing too much AoE/damage, nerfing those aspects before adding a mechanic would be my gut reaction.
ExquisiteStoneRikachuhave you ever played against good scoutsLike a good scout could be stopped with stickies before the nerf, only thing that could save you at close range was your GL.
I'm hardly up to Rikachu's level, but even I could stop a high level scout from rushing my ass down with a sticky to his face.
As much as I like the grenade launcher, the old sticky launcher was a major intimidation factor. Now it's basically a popgun. If I wanted to sit back and sync stickies or set up traps, I would use the Scottish Resistance.

The last time I saw a money match for MGE involved dopewolf (who I believe was drunk), billuster, and $50.
I don't think the loser ever paid out.
Someone please record this.
