Bump. Ended up taking a 3 week break but I've been gettin' that itch back. If any good teams are still looking for a scout I'd like to give it a shot.

I might want to play this season, depending on if I can get on a good team or not. Otherwise I'm fine with subbing. At this point I just want to win. I'd like to get into IM playoffs and hopefully make a good run. I've played both combo scout and flank scout and am comfortable playing either based on what the team wants. I am a serious tryhard gamer and so what I value most is a team that can stay focused in scrims/matches and where everyone is committed to improving and winning.
Thank you for any considerations.
Starting a team can be intimidating, especially if you're new to playing in open. It helps if you already know someone and you guys can help each other out, bounce ideas to each other, share duties, etc. If you're going to be a leader, just be understanding of people's issues, as you ideally want to create an environment where people are going to want to show up most nights and just play games together. If you're just playing on a team, strive to be accommodating and low-maintenance for others on your team as it'll just make everything so much smoother for everyone involved.
If you can be a part of a team that all want to play and improve together, it's an EXTREMELY rewarding experience and if you think you have what it takes to bring 6 people together as a leader, just go for it. I led a highlander team a couple seasons ago so I understand the stresses of getting 2 teams to fill a server, and at the time, I did think it kind of sucked. But I still think it was worth it now. I take a lot of pride in that I was able to finish the season out and it helped me make connections that I likely wouldn't have made otherwise. I've also helped lead my 6's team while in open and that was a MUCH better experience. If you're leading, set realistic goals for yourself and just try your best!
I really want to see this community thrive and the sustained health of open is necessary for this. If any new open players or teams want someone to help them with general questions, specific team questions, map reviews, or player/team demo reviews (specifically scouts), I'd be more than willing to help anyone when I have the time. http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198042954691/
Pick up Brimstone already, he is dedicated towards improving and puts in his time to do everything he can to help a team. He is just about ready to take that next step to really pounding his intermediate foes.
Played some casual the last hour. I had the same issue as above; nearly every server ended up turning into a 11v7, and instead of adding more people into the server, autobalancing turned it into a 7v6 or whatever. Eventually this led to some 4v3's that got quite boring.
Everyone who's ever played on a team with Yellow loves playing with him and having him as a teammate.
Just looking at stats, I think he was able to put up numbers that were above the level he played at. Some more seasoning could cultivate him into a capable high open player. Mistakes from over-aggressive, from what I remember, are prone to happen but a good team environment that will work with him can iron out these issues.
Shiki does everything he can to help those around him, and has been a wise and selfless person for as long as I've known him. His memes are low tier and complains about ping a lot but at least he is very serious when it matters. I want to see him start to become one of the best pockets in the game.
This guy is trying to pug as much as he can, he DMs, he already goes over his own demos with a mentor. He's dedicated, improving fast, and only wants to keep that going. He's already put in more effort than I ever did heading into my first season of ESEA. So all he needs now is a good open team to allow him to play and learn against evenly matched teams and with time, I think Trux can end up being a name to look out for in the future.
liasif you find sandblast annoying your probably bad/nofun anyway xd
Or above the age of 16. Or any number of reasons.
Sandblast has great aim and plays the game a ton. He has the potential to go off in any round and fits the definition of a 'playmaker' to a tee. But from being around him and playing on a team with him for half of season 21, I do think he is toxic. He thinks very highly of himself and looks down upon those he sees not on his level and will often go out of his way to insult others, maybe not directly to them but still. I've never seen him admit to a mistake he has made as he will generally default to blaming someone else on the team instead for reasons why the team is losing.
Before leading his own team this past season, he was cut from at least three open teams and he was cut from his highlander team this season as well. I'll let whoever's reading guess as to why. Hint: It's not DM.
But I'll leave it at that. I really wish he would channel his 'excitement' in a more productive manner. I think he has the potential to be an amazing scout and teammate, but until then, I have to be honest here.
Great player and person. I always enjoy playing on his team.
And most importantly, you can keep up to date with his anime watching here: https://myanimelist.net/profile/Yipyapper
Yipyapper's one of my favorite people in TF2.
He's got deceptively good aim from what you'd expect for a hl engie main but his best quality is his ability to be a team player. He listens to criticisms and what his team needs from him and works towards filling the roles needed to the best of his ability. He puts a lot of time into the game and yeah, is very dedicated based off of that. These are the kind of qualities you should be looking for while building a team so Wax should be able to fit in on any promising open team. I've also never seen him be negative too.
dflame cares about the game a lot. He wants to compete and he wants to win. Plays a strong aggressive game and with the healbeam, can destroy entire enemy teams. Great scout, highly recommend playing with.
