Yeah. Let's be honest very few if any soldiers are going to switch off of Escape Plan because it is so much better then the Shovel. Mini-crits won't make much difference.
The minicrits do matter because of the lack of range fall off making retreating much harder, but as the soldier whip thing is banned, I still think the Escape Plan will be used.

G500 accel?

Even though the sensor does have some acceleration, it's very small compared to the tracking problems you get using it on a cloth pad.
Try a hard pad and you may find you no longer perceive any accel, although you can't get rid of it completely.
