carteri think best case scenario is valve hiring this guy. super impressive work and i've really enjoyed watching these devlogs, but i seriously doubt there are any gameplay implications (and certainly not competitive implications)

I played on 720p/60fps on a lan where I only brought my laptop. 720p and even below is super playable if you're already used to fucky configs. it's not ideal, but better low res than low fps
Happy to see about half the folks on this list having logged into ESEA this week to fix this problem. Please take like 30 seconds of your day to see if you know anyone (or know anyone on anybody's "buddy" list) to try to help these folks out.
hundred bucks a year is a lot (for most ppl i guess not everyone) to just lose

also the reload sound is much quieter than a literal rocket launcher being fired / scattergun shot. if you have to reload, you aren't sneaking. also (iirc) footstep mods are banned atm
a few newbie mix people over the years (the newbies not coaches lol) have talked about never enabling it because of reload sounds
