Favorite story of any pub was definitely my first times playing spy. I was on a terrible dustbowl server, and we were being spawn camped on the last stage for 20ish minutes. With about 50 seconds left or so, I decide "whatever I'll play spy and try to backcap." Some scouts had already managed to bonk there way to A and cap it. Capping B was a whole other story, though. So by this time I probably had about 20 hours on soldier, a few hours on scout, half an hour on heavy, and a couple minutes in other classes. I was still very new to the game.
So my team has managed to push out to where we have the three doors that lead outside. I choose the far right one and cloak before exiting. -WOW THATS A LOT OF PROJECTILES JEEZE LOUSIE- I somehow manage to dodge all the projectiles and round the first corner, still cloaked, finding a sentry there. I manage to jump over the sentry and climb the stairs. "Sweet, the worst is over," I think. Then I see there are only 35-40 seconds left. I manage to cloak as a sniper WHILE PRESSING W- it was a serious deal then. I didn't expect anything to be at last though... I round the final corner with probably 20-25 seconds left. I see a lone engineer whacking at a level three sentry right on the ledge behind the point with a dispenser behind him...
"Darn," I think. I have no clue what I'm doing with this class, having played it probably twice, maybe three times before this occasion. I know the basic mechanics though, I have a sapper that will disable the sentry gun. I have a knife that will kill the engineer if I hit him in the back. I walk up, disguised as the sniper still. I manage to jump on the ledge, and then on the gun. Then I hear an all too familiar voice "5..." I sapped the gun and dispenser (I didn't think about how sapping the dispenser was kind of pointless, I was new). "4..." I jumped from the sentry, over the engineer, to the dispenser, turned around, and stabbed the engineer who was still trying to fix his sentry. "3..." I jump over the breaking sentry onto the point to start capping.
"2... 1..." Heart pumping, I hear most satisfying "overtiiime" of all time. I finish off the cap, and my team goes crazy in voice chat. Up to that point, I had started getting bored of this game. I had never done anything clutch, and that moment seriously made me re-interest myself in this game, and I'm really grateful for it, as it's given me the chance to meet all of you guys here in the competitive community.

So yeah, that's my favorite pub story. My favorite pub server is actually some random pub that used to be called "EZF Dustbowl." I forget what EZF stands for, but if you go through a few steps, they'll give you some pretty neat member perks. All-in-all, they're a very nice group of folks who aren't the greatest at tf2, but they're really fun to play with and there aren't many engies to worry about. I'd highly recommend if you like dustbowl. It's now under the name "Novus Network"
