yttriumKevinIsPwntf2 doesnt need to change to stay "alive" or whatever. esea is huge this season despite it being winter, when numbers are typically much lower. we keep the meta the way it is because it's fun and it what we like. Not quite on topic with OP but what are the current ESEA enrollments looking like? From what I can see, the NA Open division only just made the cutoff of 50 registered teams. Wasn't TF2 going to get pulled without 50? Or does that count include intermediate and invite as well?
58 in open
16 in IM
9 in invite
(i think)

AustinWere we expecting less out of Dingo?
i mean i wasn't surprised when it happened but like who actually does that?
I'm signed up for it to have some fun and to further develop my opinion on the format. I don't actively hate the format like many people in the community, but I do think 6s and highlander are much better. I totally dig how you made an account just to call me out though.
I don't want to start anything, I just want to play video games.
Edit: also I haven't seen a map list anywhere. Has that been decided and I've just missed it? Or will it be announced soon?
Thanks for hosting a tournament! This forum is mainly a 6v6 thing but it's good to see people sponsoring the game regardless of format.
Not many people from these forums will sign up for this because (honestly) A:R in it's current form is pretty bad. This is a format that's probably good for your community to play in but the vast majority of actually competitive players really hate arena respawn.
When will prizes be announced?

Thoughts?
They do this for lans and stuff to. It really doesn't mean anything, barely anyone knows that's a thing.
That may not be your intent, but to quote PBL Gizmo from a mumble conversation we had
If the entire 6s community left and we managed to capture one percent of the pub community, pbl would be in the positive.
I don't know if this is something I was supposed to share or if it was more than an off-hand comment but honestly I don't really care at this point.
The goal of pbl is to make a profit off this community. I would be totally okay with that if they weren't willing to destroy the community in order to do that, but they are. They don't care about this community any more than they need to in order to make a profit in the long run, and like I said that would be fine if they weren't willing to get rid of the current community. But they are. Sorry but that needed to be shared.
I really do hope you manage to get this working for you though extine. It would be great if you could do tf2 full time, and people like Dashner definitely deserve a paycheck every now and again. I am just sharing the other side of the viewpoint in hopes that you better understand where we're coming from.
I didn't say it was why tf2 isn't an esport. But the things this community has accomplished are seriously impressive when you take that detail into account, so it's one I feel should be included.
"Beyond the Hats" is a tf2 documentary I started working on a few weeks ago. I've made a considerable amount of progress in the process of time-lining the feats of the community, and I decided I'm confident enough to post this teaser trailer for the doc. Enjoy!

If you've been around forever, feel free to add me. I'm looking for a lot more info about the first few years of the game.
