Icefrog quickly stopped removing heroes from Captain's Mode because he wanted pro feedback and a better understanding of how those heroes function with new heroes being added to the game, and the changing current heroes with each patch

No sorry, I come from an ACTUAL esports background, from an ACTUAL esport (Top Dota 2 player in the Americas, amateur tourney experience)

But I'm sure this community's strategy of banning anything that looks slightly different from the scattergun or the rocket launcher will save tf2 and make for a great competitive gaming experience that will reach a large audience

Changes like this will save TF2, if it even has any chance of being saved left, after years of constant neglect from valve

Really though, it came down to valve not releasing a trash Ranked mode, so people would play it with no weapon bans, and they could collect the data and figure out what weapons were trash and which were good in 6v6 play

But valve fucked that up too, and no one plays Competitive mode anymore

partly valve is just shit at their jobs, and partly this weapon banning has caused valve to have no understanding of what weapons need to get buffed and nerfed, they never see the top players using the OP weapons, and ignoring the shit weapons, since everything is banned regardless
