When's the Obama interview?
konrAs long as top level teams offclass effectively you can't logically ban shit under the argument that the game isn't supposed to be played with offclasses.
That is Illogical.
What's supposed to happen, is you're taught the core format in Newbie Mixes, and then you practice it regularly in #tf2mix since Newbie Pugs are still only a limited deal. Then once you're comfortable/reliable in that you either join a UGC team or step up to pug.na, then you can be introduced to tactful off-classing.
The last part is key, anybody can offclass in a game, but to make it effective (and fun) you have to do it at the right time for the right reason. Offclassing to sniper just because you're good at it isn't valid, but doing it to get a med pick and stop a push is valid. Same thing with using Heavy, Pyro or Engineer defending last.
tl;dr - Don't offclass just because you can, and nobody will get mad.
If you're going to ban one off-class you might as well ban the rest of the off-classes.
That or make it possible to vote on per-pug to allow/ban offclassing.
Well, at least it's only 3 weeks until NASCAR is back on...
defianceI'll bump this when it's all said and done.
Kronitonlol this guy called it

Can we get placement playoffs for ESEA like ETF2L does?
Instead of casters on-site, what about having a emcee and a sideline reporter or two?
The emcee can be somebody who can provide background info on upcoming matches, recap completed matches and generally be a on-air personality to keep viewers engaged. While the sideline reporter can roam with a wireless mic setup and find people to interview, or when pauses happen get a quick word in with a player to see what's going on.
Add in a on-site producer to make sure it doesn't fly off the rails and you have a fully-functional broadcast component, which if it breaks doesn't break the cast in the process (presuming you rely on a off-site streamer as has been the case the past few LANs).
I'm probably pretty rusty as a color commentator, but if you need a hand I can come co-cast.
I'll believe it when I see it in the Steam Store.
They've tweeted whenever a donation has been made, but that's all I've seen from them.
Cold--Later Dawg!
FTFY ;)
I'd be impressed if Huhy never restarted TF2 during the tourney before that crash.
