So what all do you need to pay for in this game? Are ammo and weapons free?

To me the colors are fine I adjusted it a bit out of the box but i can't see anything wrong with it. Go for the asus
To me the big issue between pubs and 6s isn't class limitations. That's part of it, but let me explain.
A pubber doesn't see a soldier shooting rockets through choke and go, "oh that team might be getting ready to push we should back up and send our roamer to force their uber at choke". The average pubber goes "look a rocket"
The average pubber doesn't think "ok their med went down 20 seconds ago we have a 50% uber advantage if we push quick we can pick the med and force them out of second, while bringing in scouts to clean up after". The average pubber would think "I enjoy playing spy lets go spy"
We shouldn't make our game bend head over heels for pubbers. We shouldn't tell them "scout is better don't play sniper". We need to tell them why. Explain why uber is such an important point for teams. If you say "uber is important" people will sit there and wait for uber even if the other team is down 2 players. Teach people why.
Tell them that uber is important, because it lets your team become invulnerable for 8 seconds, and can be used to pick enemy players and gain ground. But you can gain ground or push off of dead players without uber too.
If you want pubbers to come, you need to help them think at a more complex level. That's the hardest thing about moving to competitive 6s is understanding whats going on and how it affects the game.
So what is a possible solution? We can make some handy dandy short videos explaining the basics of 6s. The role of scouts, the role of demo, the role of soldiers, why uber is important, why teams hold here and not there, and promote them.
If we get the word out there and people learn about 6s, they will come to learn or play it. If they see a 10 minute video that can explain everything they need to know before jumping in, and then have some understanding, we can see some huge growth
I started competitive with like 30 hours in tf2. I played HL because that's what seemed the most similar to pubbing for me, and then after about 1 steel season I saw a cast of the ESEA Lan, and was amazed. The game looked so much quicker and organized, and seemed like a lot of fun. I moved to 6s and haven't looked back.
Lesson being we need to see some articles on the teamfortress.com home page when we do something like raise $20,000 to send 2 teams to europe to compete in a lan
kirbyBut what if Valve ends up balancing the Brass Beast to work in a competitive environment?
If they fix it to make it fit for competitive, sure i won't mind seeing a brass beast around.
kirbyI think you might be looking too hard into the idea of change. I don't think we want to turn 6s into something completely new and different, except rather take the core of 6s, keep what is good, revamp what is bad, look over decisions we've made in the past and see if they should stay how they are or not, etc.
But what can you point out to me that is bad about 6s? Is there anything wrong with the game itself? I have never in my 2 years of playing competitive heard people complain that we need to fix 6v6, or that we should reconsider having 1 demo or 1 medic. The only reason we are bringing this up is to appease valve and get support.
The only thing about 6s that I don't like, is some of the people in the community, but I can live with them (most of the time)
I completely agree with what killing said, I don't want us to completely throw away the game we have now just so we can get a 6v6 lobby system in the game
I'll be honest here. I'm just another open player so enigma or any other top level mind might think differently than me, but I hate the idea of some new 6v6 format we would get just to get robins support. I play 6s because I love the game mode. I love how demo is such a focal point of the game and teams can revolve around him. I love the way this game is played, I absolutely love the strategy of 2 scouts, a pocket, a roamer, a demo, and a medic.
I don't want to see changes to the way this enjoyable format is played. Honestly if we make any drastic changes to this format I don't think I would stick around. I don't want to leave this game so that we can get more people. As much as I want to see this game grow, and believe me I do, I don't feel like changing our game to suit robins feelings is the way to do it. How come I have never heard talks of restructuring 6s until we hear robin say he thinks 6v6 is stale?
Could you imagine what football players would think if the NFL decided to add a second football and quarterback because the head of the NFL thought football was getting stale and didn't have new strategies.
To be honest if drastic changes happen ill find some pugging group and not switch over. I don't think I could enjoy 6s if I'm running around and seeing 2 demos, a spy, and a brass beast heavy.
I'm all for some changes to this game. I think seeing some new unlocks could be really awesome and bring exciting new strategies. I don't think changing the entire foundation of 6v6 is the way to bring change
Get the g400 it's an amazing mouse you won't regret it.
Cool guy who is dedicated to improving!
Thats a lot of color correction and lens flare
Ive had a similar issue where everything is fine like streams are but downloads are so slow
Age doesn't matter if you're mature. I started competitive when I was 14. People don't mind your voice if you aren't stupid about it. Be respectful and take criticism well. If you're only say 12 but you act like you're an adult nobody will care. Just don't be the 12 year old kid who tells at others and doesn't listen to anyone else
If anyone is writing one for open i'd help, if not I'll write one after this week maybe
I was messing around in the sound files a few days ago and found the games startup music, and figured out that you can edit that music, so instead of playing any of valves music on startup you can have tf2 play any song you want.
You just have to go to your custom folder and then UserStuff/sound/ui
UserStuff is whatever folder you have for your hud and such.
Just replace gamstartup1, gamestartup2, etc. with any mp3 you want and it should load any one of those songs on startup.
This is probably worthless I just thought it was cool
