Huds include the files that give the captions text since TF2 doesnt have english captions by default i think. But you still need to enable them via cl_closedcaptions. And no that wont effect things unless cl_closedcaptions 0 is in there somewhere, but it shouldnt be.

Have you added cl_closedcaptions 1 to your autoexec ?

When this happened to me it was a driver issue, windows update somehow uninstalled the graphics card drivers on my pc and steam would not launch. Try updating/reinstalling those.

Collisions as in bumping shoulder are fair game in hurling, anything beyond that is off limits obviously. It's considered the fastest field sport and since pretty much no player at a county level wears protection of any kind besides a jersey, playing goalie is scary as fuck.
