#13 TFTV/Twitch Invitational - Grand Finals in Events
dashnerjoddmaps?
badlands and snakewater if froyo wins the first map

I can understand having bo1 in the earlier matches but it would have been nice to see bo3s for the Grand Finals or even the Upper and Lower Bracket Finals. I guess technically this is a bo3 because of the upper bracket advantage but whatever.

These recent matches are the only ones I've watched in a while and I been very impressed by all the fancy spectator tools. Literally saving esports.

If they wanted to support TF2 they could port all the changes to the demo system that they made in CS:GO to TF2.

#1 Scoreboard after MvM update in Customization

I apologize if this was asked elsewhere but I can't find it.

How do I adjust the scoreboard so that ping will appear now with the streak column. I use OMP's HUD.

Thanks

To summerize what you are saying, at least as I undertand it:

*iT plays TF2 a lot because they enjoy it and it doesn't interfear in their life.

*You however love TF2 but have to spend more time with your job.

*You find most matches boring because you will likely win them.

*You feel like LAN is a greater reward then prize money because matches there are lag free and all againt the other top 3 teams.

*Online games over smaller prize pots don't appeal to you.

Now CEVO seems to be a good alternative for ESEA and they seem intersted in having league fees to fund a pot and potentially a LAN piggybacking off of a existing one. Would you consider that adaquete?

Edit: Not sure why I am being -fragged. If you disagree then why?

#208 AG Supports CEVO in Expanded League in TF2 General Discussion
hookyMerchantfrknWhy would a free division in CEVO have a higher skill level then whatever the top UGC div is?
ESEA has historically had the higher skilled players. If they transitioned to CEVO then there would be a league with high skilled players that was also free, something that could appeal to UGC players.
Oh, so you mean the entire league should be free? In that case, I don't agree. There needs to be a league fee to build a prize pot that can attract people from ESEA. Well, the people that need to be anyway. Only other thing we really need at this point to get people to switch is a LAN, but we've discussed that too much already.

I don't necessarily think the entire league should be free just that if it was it could attract more players. That being said, I am much more willing to pay league fees for CEVO then ESEA.

#201 AG Supports CEVO in Expanded League in TF2 General Discussion
LangeDoes a web dev with some time to spare want to cross reference the STEAM_IDs of all rostered UGC players with all rostered ESEA players? How much of an overlap is there? Is UGC *really* a feed league to the paid leagues? If so, then I think CEVO implementing fees across the board is okay. If not, then maybe we do need to consider a free option for CEVO.

UGC would probably be willing to turn over their STEAM_ID data pretty willingly to help create a metric like this. A scraper would have to be written for ESEA, as they have no API. This is outside the scope of my abilities, but maybe someone else can tackle it.

This would be intersting to see but my main point was a free league with a high skill level then UGC would appeal to UGC players and could make CEVO really big.

pine_beetleNahanni and I were discussing pay to play and how to structure it. We decided that a free division is a bad idea because it's unfair. Why do you get the same service for free just because you're in a lower division? There are free leagues available for you to play in if that is your intention. In the past amature and main divisions had trouble with teams staying in main or being "forced" to pay for main. We've decided that everyone will pay the same price regardless of what division they're in. Nahanni is going to start crunching numbers and an estimated price point should be available by Tuesday night.

Huh. Not sure how I feel about this. On one hand, a decent pot should make the switch more a more attractive proposition for some but then you are alienating a group that could have really filled the league: UGC players. I guess it depends how reasonable the fee is.

Platinum#367 - all I'm saying is that if there is nothing to compete for, an incentive (money, fame, recognition, in-game unique items, WHATEVER) then what is the motivation to try and tackle the task of becoming the best? The first season might go off fine because of the sheer spite everyone has for esea right now, but I'm telling you without an adequate replacement for what we already have, it will stifle the growth and competition of this game

Lack of prizes won't stifle competition for all. Just the higher divisions (maybe). I think that smaka really explained it well in the post game interview that he gave about how when you are at the lower levels you really want to make it to the next division but once you make it to invite you can't play for that really so prizes help. That being said CEVO HAS money prizes. For this season there were only 7 teams and there is still a $600 prize pot. The CS:GO division has 117 teams from what I can see but the prizes are:

MAIN DIVISION - $1,750
1st - $1000
2nd - $500
3rd - $250 + 5x Zowiegear PTF Mousepads

INTERMEDIATE DIVISION - $750
1st - $500
2nd - $250
3rd - 5x Zowiegear Hammer Headsets

OPEN DIVISION - $500
1st - $250
2nd - $150
3rd - $100
4th - 5x Zowiegear GRF Mousepads

I'm not saying these are what the prize pot will be but let's say it came down to the finals where you were fighting b4nnys team for either $167 each or $83 each (And you wouldn't have to pay for a LAN). Is that enough to make it competitive for you?

OblivionageYo i get it gets exposure to the non-comp side of tf2 but what exactly is the significance of getting a custom map into the stock maps?

Reduces barriers between non comp and comp. Nice recognition for the maker.

Also invite matches take 15 mins to start most times (although the same thing may happen with this match.

Can you have Marxist or Getawhale announce when the other match goes live?
