can i have my name changed to Moist Penguin as this is my online name
Dont worry about ram/storage most laptops let this be upgraded easily.
As the specs are the same other than the cpu.
The i5-4200H is a dual core hyperthreaded whereas the i5-6300HQ has 4 physical cores and is a year newer design. However the i5-4200H has a 500 MHz higher base clock and 200MHz boost clock, and it scores better on single core benchmarks. This will probably not translate proportionally to ingame performace but the 4200H would probably be a bit better at running TF2 than the 6300HQ. However if you want to play any game that started its development in the current decade, it would probably be better to purchase the 6300HQ, also if you do any video editing or simulation as part of your university work it may also be a better choice in that regard.
tl;dr one slightly better at tf2 approx. 10% but older and worse in other games/applications
This is quite close in order to the amount of hours he has on each class, hmmm
I dont think they will add bad/granary back as they know people like them and they are good maps, i would expect them to test other 5cp maps like Freight or Yukon.
ThoughtcrimeAsecKinda feel like people are overreacting a little. Its matchmaking, it wasn't good before the update and it still isn't. I am wondering how many people complaining here actually played MM regularly. It's just a shame to see all the potential that mm could have had just go to waste. Where is the whitelist? Where is the option to choose maps?
Judging by the tftv forums, nobody here cares about mm at the moment, because it's that unpopular.
Valve probably knows that and is just experimenting with it now I guess, like testing out how ctf currently works (/doesn't work) in 6s and trying to improve it, doing the same with badwater/payload.
Of course those are some super questionable decisions (why remove badlands instead of swiftwater??), but does it really matter to the comp community right now?
It doesn't affect the leagues or anything, so who cares. Valve wanna find out that CTF sucks on their own, they don't want to rely on a tiny slice of their playerbase? From a dev standpoint, I think that kinda makes sense.
The only thing that really bothers me, is that the entire process of experimenting with the game to find out what does and doesn't work is just so slow.
But it's Valve, so that should have been expected...
Removing maps that are staples of competitive and which have proven themselves to be fairly balanced and fun to play on is going backwards. Not only that but to throw in another payload map and a ctf map when neither of those have been known to work for 6s - let alone even be fun to play in that format - is just salt in the wound.
That's what betas are for. I have a feeling that mm will never actually be out of "beta". Valve will just keep experimenting while the competitive community slowly shrinks.
That is why people are upset.
1 There should never be a whitelist on mm, valve should balance the banned weapons.
2 map picking would be good but i doubt there is the player base for it.
3 while there were very few changes from the beta to the main release (if any). You would want valve to continually iterate on mm, so the idea that changes would stop after release is not a good one. The CS mm was far worse than what it is now.
Im not saying that valve are perfect, im just defending some of their decisions which given the amount of hate towards valve atm i will prob get down fragged.
MasterMinderDoctorMiggyWhat are the requirements for server owners to list their serversPlugins are fine, as long as they do not affect gameplay in any way.
Vanilla implies stock maps, but does this also mean I cant have plugins to manage my servers such as admin menus and sourcebans?
What about changing ingame cvars, random crits etc?
shorasThere was a rule to use your ETF2L aliases for Prem officials, which was quite strict (IIRC TLR got a warning 'cause WAR was using WAR instead of full WARHURYEAH). Don't know what happened to it.
It's actually still there (1.8.2).
Didn't notice it's already been posted smh.
The rule has been changed so that as long as the name is identifiable for the player then it is fine, e.g. WAR would be fine for WARHURYEAH, this would allow cmd for condom as similar names exist in cs with out much issue, however 91 for dmoule is not acceptable and i will look into it tomorrow.
nykdashnerEnded up working full time shooting video work for Ready Up, but still was an unforgettable experience. Got to sit down with a lot of big names in CSGO and some of the words and ideas they had to offer about TF2 + it's history were surprisingly insightful. Doing video coverage for an event of this scale in general is always very fulfilling as well. That's awesome man, anyone with particularly interesting ideas about tf2? I can imagine thorin and semmler and a few others know a fair bit about it
I know Richard Lewis played TF2 at one of the very early insomnias
aieraHashtagBasedI still have a bit to save up, since I'm getting new RAM, I'll be able to afford it all next week. I have some time to think about it. Going back to my selected mobo and CPU, I think I found my desired ram. Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB 1866MHz DDR3. I figured it'd be compatible with the processor and mobo, but I'm not 100% on a decision.please dont base your upgrade on your ram
please get a skylake intel processor they are actually significantly better and aren't "2 times more expensive" plus you will be using ddr4 ram which is newer and therefore will be more future proof
This ram is thr worst place to spend money, get the cheapest stuff you can unless you really want flashy lights or colours. Money is better spend on cpu or even mobo.
when i tried to invite a friend it said "something went wrong"
yttriumsaamin what universe should the rescue ranger not be bannersince this is a universal whitelist it applies to all game modes, including HL. rescue ranger is a really big deal for HL defending engies. so that's probably why.
This does not apply to highlander, this whitelist only applies to 6v6.
glorywas the cow mangler banned or was it always available
the cow mangler is not banned, it was previously banned in esea but not in etf2l
AubriacCrit-a-cola,
