In The Court Of The Crimson King is a fucking amazing album imo but doesn't really fall into the genres you listed so you may not enjoy it as much.

Sounds like the bass is just super high. I've never used DXTory so I can't help anymore than that but I guess check your sound settings/drivers.

I googled it and found a rockpapershotgun article about it. It seems like sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't. I think that when they tested it it only helped when your CPU was being pushed to its limits.
This is the same thing that happens when you have audio mods that aren't the correct length in Source games. If you have any audio mods, remove them.
