Probably better to play it tomorrow considering that there most likely will be a huge update today.

zigzterTwilitlordI'm ready to play the Steven Lin drinking gameTake a shot every time he drops uber.
Show Contentjk plz don't do that I don't want to be responsible for alcohol poisoning.
I do need to finish that bottle of whiskey...
Man I remember one year it happened on the week of my birthday so I had a ton of birthday money to spend on cheap video games. Right now I'm broke... fuck.
Good at video games and fun to pug with. :o
bumping again, I have returned from vacation to game once more.
Knowing microsoft even of they did release it for PC they'd be dumb and make it windows 8 only though.
Fuck shitty phone keyboards.
They still haven't added Xen. That can be a good thing or bad depending on your opinion of it I guess. What's there is still really good though and you can download extended levels for stuff that got cut out from the original versions of On a Rail and Surface Tension.
The thing is with dota though, the heroes are actually balanced around competitive play while tf2 weapons aren't. After the hero draft players on both teams know exactly what heroes they have, what heroes the other team has and what abilities they can/will use given the right situation and you can't suddenly change to a hero that wasn't banned in the middle of a match. In a pick/ban system in tf2 a player can switch to any weapon that isn't banned whenever they want, you don't know what they're going to run and depending on what's allowed and what's banned you have no idea what to expect at any given time. This also brings up the question of how many weapons do you ban? This game has so many different weapons now that a banning phase would take a really long time if you actually want to get a reasonable amount of allowed/banned weapons. The comparison to dota just really doesn't work, the pick/ban system in tf2 just wouldn't be as refined and it wouldn't work near as well as it does in dota because they're two completely different types of games.
Pick/ban in tf2 was a terrible idea from the start and everyone pretty much forgot about it after initially talking about it and maybe a few pugs that I didn't play in, but considering that they didn't go on for very long I think I can guess that they didn't turn out all that great.
And tf2 is not comparable with Dota, please don't try to make that comparison.
Pyro surprise plays are fun but unless you get a good setup for it during the mid fight it most likely won't turn out all that well.
Just bumping real quick to say that I'm leaving to go on a trip on Sunday and that I'll be back next Thursday. You can still add me and I might find the time to respond on my phone but I can't play till then. After that I'm back to being available whenever.
Having all the tf2 channels on the same network was kind of convenient. I don't really care what network it's on but all the relevant irc channels should still be on the same network. Since mix stayed on gamesurge while pug.na moved it seemed like a lot of players just started playing in mix since it was still on the old convenient network and therefore pug.na started to become less populated.
Ok, let's look at the counters to quick fix that aren't unlocks:
1) Heavy
2) Engineer
Basically the solution to quick fix is to slow the game down which is what we try to avoid doing as much as possible. Like if you've ever actually played with the quick fix or even just watched a few matches where it was being used prominently it's really easy to see how bad it is for the game. You're acting like I have no experience at all with the quick fix in 6v6. I do, it was awful, and I never want to experience it again.
Edit: Thanks John.
bastidthere are a lot of great QF counters that are banned (stuff that enables burst damage) and that's part of the problem too. can't cut out certain parts and expect the machine to run smoothly
So basically you're saying you want us to unban more stupid weapons so we can counter a stupid weapon that should just be banned anyways? Like that's the entire problem with most of the unlocks in general. Dumb weapons just require other dumb weapons so they can be "countered." That's not really what I (and most likely most of the community) want 6s to turn into, and it's exactly what the quick fix was already starting to do.
futurealso fuck the mentoring shit
you can hire me, instead of ripping of kids who should get paid to begin with
