Just to clarify what was said above:-

i) remove your autoexec.cfg and custom folder from your tf folder.
ii) run tf2 with -autoconfig in launch options (you should get default settings)
iii) Put your new autoexec.cfg in tf/cfg and put your custom folder back
iv) run tf2 after removing -autoconfig from launch options
v) profit.

You should buy new mouse feet as well afterwards, some can be found on amazon. If you are careful with replacing the feet you may not need to buy new ones.

I'm used to carrying around an SSD with windows installed on it between computers and i've had no problems apart from 'Not Genuine Windows' popups.

However, with that said its probably easier to use a Linux Live CD like AMC as you are less likely to run into problems where you can check your specs.

Edit: you are unlikely to run into problems booting from a drive with an OS installed unless it's for a different architecture (32bit, 64bit)

phong doesn't exist for dx8 only on dx9

I have a grey screen in tourament mode in spectator/respawning. This seemed to be caused by a crash, i've tried reinstalling the hud and didn't work. What is the .res file and maybe specific entity for tourament spectate?
