equalsdsuch as:
1.demo becoming more powerful
2.while an incremental change such as 15fov may not effect gameplay that much, (NOT NONE) more incremental changes over time will have a large effect. Where would you draw the line?
Lettuce be cereal, an increase of 7.5 degrees on left and right ain't gunna make demo more powerful breh. What extra changes?
equalsdlmao if you google "low fov eyestrain," this is the top result.
it sure is :)....edit: damn actually it is second
potOdissiusTime to say fuck ESEA and make a TeamFortress.TV League and migrate all ESEA teams to it?I agree with this. Entry fees are used to fund a LAN final for the top 4 teams, including LAN expenses and flights.
It should still be a paid league...let's just get away from ESEA.

KhakiSo is the jump from 60hz to 120hz similar to 120-200hz?
Well, there are no 240Hz PC monitors yet I don't think...can you imagine having to keep your FPS above 240 always =/
But I saw a 120Hz and 240Hz TV playing the same movie next to each other in sync at the store and the 240Hz was like twice as smooth.
Do want.
vilenot all pubs will have this plugin. wouldn't it be unfair for 6v6 players that enjoy pubbing? they have to play with two different fov settings so that they can get the same advantage as everyone else.
Sorry what? Anyone can install this plugin on their client side if they want.
vileand how exactly does low fov cause eyestrain?
Google it, I've already answered that in this thread and it should be common knowledge to PC gamers by now.
starry-what's the point of raising fov to 105 if you'll still have to scrim with 90?
I've answered this a few times already...OpenPlugin lets you set your FOV to whatever you want up to 130.
So you can pub and scrim to your heart's desire at your preferred FOV.
no
It's funny how ETF2L is completely cool with pushing FOV past 90, but the opposite with ESEA...
synchroWe'll make two assumptions for now: 1) people with the power to change the ESEA Client are reading this thread, and 2) ESEA is willing to make such a change. Most people understand that neither of these are true, though.
I understand both of those things, I was hoping to get people behind the petition on here and then try to get in touch with the right people at ESEA.
synchro1. When people raise valid points against you
I am still waiting for a legitimate argument against raising the FOV cap by 15 degrees for everyone.
synchro2. When one person does kind of agree with you, you acknowledge them as the only intelligent person in the community (second only to yourself, of course) and praise them heavily, while implying that 99% of the community is wrong and you're the 1% who really knows what's up.
Of course I'm going to do that, when 90% of the posts are people just saying "lol" "this is stupid" "this will break tf2" etc. I wish the invite players I talked to who thought it was a good idea would've posted here.
synchro3. As people have mentioned, the extra 15 degrees isn't there for a reason; yes, other games have used higher FoVs in the past, and you're right in that we do change Valve's rules a bit to enhance competitive play. Unfortunately, your strongest reasoning for making the change is that you have (a rare case of) eye strain, while the concerns against this change essentially add up to "it changes the game too much to keep it balanced."
If you do a Google search on 'Low FOV Eye Strain / Headaches' you will get thousands of results.
Still waiting for someone to detail exactly how 15 degrees extra FOV breaks TF2 gameplay any more than other things, like turning off viewmodels to see more on screen. Because in my experience it has not. Spies will still get stabs in and scouts will still be able to flank and meatshot.
