Pokemon is probably the only franchise in the world where quantity is more important than quality. Being able to collect them all (it's the tagline of the franchise) is more important imo.
In a time where there's a lot of emphasis put on the relationship between the players and their teams, the bond they've created and such, not being able to transfer the mons you've been playing with for a while looks like a bad decision.

It's the entry point of the main game serie on Switch (considering Let's Gos are spin-offs), so that's a huge blow.

All things considered, pretty hyped.
The main selling point is obviously the wild area thing, with the pokemons roaming on the overworld. The few designs we've seen are great too imo, except the legendaries that i didnt like much.
Interested to see how much of an open world this is going to be, but it looks promising.
