Anyway, I had your problem a long time ago and I fixed it by sending an email to the Steam Support. Tell them that you would like to have the proper gibs in game. It tooks a few days to apply iirc.

Can't you fly to Paris and then find a way from Paris to come to Poitiers (car/train) ?
(I don't really know about the airports close to Poitiers tbh but that seems difficult to find)
