I'm gonna piggyback on this and let any streamer know that I've made a logo that's going up on pretty much all of the 4DaKidz stuff, and here is a little something for people to put on their Twitch channels to spread the word.
Edit: Made a transparent logo for the actual charity stream, so you can use that in addition to/instead of the other one.

I've never had a HUD with a scoreboard that really pleased me, so I tweaked Broselhud_blue to make it easier to see things at a glance.

Green for kills, Red for deaths, Yellow for assists. Tried to group things together as best as I could (Doms and Revenges, caps and blocks, healing/damage, etc.). Also color-coded captures/defenses, because why not?
MagikarpAlleali just want people to like real esports :(This so much, StarCraft, Quake, CS, Dota, and some fighting games. When will we reach the dream?
Don't have any sources off-hand, but TF2 is increasing in popularity by a hell of a lot every month. With ESPN looking at eSports (Dota, Call of Duty, but hopefully more in the future), and our LANs just getting bigger and bigger (i52 hype!), we're definitely heading in the right direction.
Biggest part of it all for me is that it's all our community doing it. Dota, CS:GO, etc. all have some major support for them coming from devs and other sponsors, but TF2 is pretty much all us, and it's incredible how well we're doing considering that.
danaItems have taller pickup collision boxes, so that players will not miss items as they jump over them.
please christ almighty
speculating on anything else is pretty useless at this point
but to be honest some drastic steps need to be taken for this game to go anywhere; if id is scared of "alienating" veterans as Kairu says quake will continue to stagnate
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't comp. Quake only active in the highest levels right now? I think they're just cutting their losses in order to get a bigger casual playerbase and hopefully stay alive as an eSport by making it a bit more starter-friendly.
Edit: Wrong quote
There's also hitbox.tv and others out there that are gaining traction at the moment.
If this keeps blowing up, it'd be cool to have an option to stream here through those sites. (Don't know if there is now or if I'm just dumb)
LangeMy biggest hope about a potential TF2 -> Source2 port would be that it would most likely come with improvements to demos (replays), STV, and other esports-related tools.
If Valve does a "silent" update to TF2 with things like this, I'd cry
Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/orange_cake
- Stream mostly TF2 content
A lot of the time I stream when I play, and 99% of that is TF2. I only stream other games if I'm lonely or bored.
- Stream consistently over the course of the week
Not sure if this means consistently as "at a reliable time," but I play no shortage of games over the week to stream, so it's usually 1-3 per day. (Less on the weekends)
- Provide a brief description of your stream
Matches, scrims, pubs, MGE, map reviews with my 6's team, TF2Center, pugs, mixes, DM. I'll try to stream every match and scrim, but not every time I play MGE or pub.
- State your country of residence
United States
- Give a brief background of your league/division/team history
Gold highlander, and a lot of 6's not-on-a-team (Currently helping teach and play for a team of friends). UGC page
I would love to see this happen and eventually make an impact. Whenever it's come up in discussion, I've tried to make a lot of the same points you've listed, so it's a definite relief to see another person/group with goals like this.
