Honestly if you start in a certain division and play two matches in it you should not be allowed to switch teams to a lower division mid season, only the same division or higher. If your team dies, better luck next season. Might incentivize people to get on teams that will live.

PhaserThere's a reason the ex-invite sandbaggers are where they are
Hey, fuck you plat i can't help that i'm terrible.
We can talk about a statute of limitations old man
Save the league? I want to see open players with some drive to win reminiscent of when I used to play in open/cevo-a. There's a reason the ex-invite sandbaggers are where they are, they are easily beatable and maybe this will kickstart some drive for newer players to try and win. Plus I want to try and give back a little to the open players who have been "funding lan", which is really the only reason my team plays.
I'll give an extra $120 to a top 2 finisher that has no sandbagging ex-invite nerds on their team this season. Let's play video games.
radiumI think it might be time for players that have been in ESEA for a few seasons to give some free coaching to new teams with little to no competitive experience. I'm not sure how it'd work, but I think that an aggressive policy is the only thing that can allow ESEA to reach 30 Open teams.
What does this look like? Cevo?
pulpfixionAfter it's all said and done, these invite/main players(babies) wont have anywhere to go BUT CEVO so whine and complain all the fuck you want, if you ever want to play TF2 competitively looks like it's going to have to be CEVO, THE MAJORITY have spoken.
Man are you in for a rude awakening when 80 percent of the games you've paid for are rolls. There's not going to be "competitive tf2", there's going to be pay-for pub stomping
RikachuYou gonna take that from a sandbagger, Plat?
Can't sandbag when terrible
seanbudmaybe without LAN we won't have to kill other LAN contending teams to try and beat b4nny every season.
What are you referring to exactly? You're right, without LAN you'll just get rolled by his team season after season. Have "fun" with that. Your mumble must be so chill with how little fucks you give.
rr-Plat its time to come out of retirement and play huntsman sniper pocket with ninja here at crossbows only.
I'm not allowed. That's disrespectful because players can't counter an "underpowered" weapon. Here at cevo we aim to respect and train the competition so we reach an equal online playing field for all players to have fun at the same skill level.
QuindaliMa3laaThe competition wouldn't be great no matter how many top teams are in cevo because no one cares about winning cevo. I see why cevo could be appealing for open and new players, but it offers nothing for the top competition of tf2, simple as that.
This is an unfortunate truth. While there are some great teams in CEVO-M, there is a high probability that most of them will not take any of it seriously and we will see off-classing and troll strats like huntsman snipers to mid or 24/7 heavy. While it's true that the invite level players in cevo-m probably don't see much to strive for, I personally would hope that they (as seasoned veterans of the game) would at least have enough respect and sportsmanship to play their matches with dignity. Even if they themselves do not care, they may be facing our other teams who do.
When it comes down to it, this is an "e-sport". If you're a high tier team or player, I would hope that you would conduct yourselves as such. Looking forward to our match vs. 180 tonight, gl to all other teams starting their week 1 matches.
Why would you expect players who have nothing to strive toward to try-hard for the benefit of the lesser skilled teams? Is cevo now some sort of training league because theres nothing to win?
radiumWe're giving up a whole lot to make the switch to CEVO. I really hope that we don't get burned this time around.
When I was a shit STA 8s player, I read about the switch to ESEA on GotFrag. A big reason for the switch had to do with how it opened certain doors and offered new features that had never been seen before. What doors can CEVO open for us this time around?
ESEA is a badly flawed company, but the "pay to play" community under this most recent season of ESEA was actually very healthy. IM was extremely fun and competitive. Open saw a number of new teams rise up. Invite and Main provided some solid postseason entertainment.
CEVO is probably a cleaner company than ESEA - but will the scene be as healthy this season as it was last season? How long will it take to recover, and will people stay on board for the 2-3 seasons of growing pains while the Rome is built?
No. The band wagoners are those who weren't around for the first switch.
Bet this doesn't happen with an e-check? Right brad??
eXtineblendtecDo you guys really want to deal with the battalions backup on KOTH? I know that most of you don't remember why it was banned, but it was op as shit and basically forced on viaduct if you wanted to win. Plus it got buffed since then.
Sorry to bring up ESEA transgressions, but I always thought it was a mistake for them to ban that weapon mid-season.
In my opinion the Battalions Backup being whipped out on Koth_Viaduct week was one of the most significant moments of meta innovation we've seen in TF2. A weapon that no one was touching all of a sudden became a must run and not because of balance changes by Valve... However, "No Exceptions" ESEA flipped the script and banned it half way through the map week, even though it was eXtremely doubtful that teams would have been running it on a 5-cp map.
It's a powerful strategy for KOTH, but should an item really be banned because it's very useful on one map?
Are you kidding? It literally rewarded people for being bad and taking damage. It suggested hey... You get hit way too much.. Let's give your whole team a shield because you suck at dodging damage. That's not a strategy that's a handicap assist button
