If you think affirmative action is racist you should do some critical reading on police brutality, the war on drugs, redlining, voter ID laws, and the disproportionate effects the recession had on African Americans. Systematic racism is still quite alive and thriving and pretending it doesn't exist is not a very helpful way to combat it.

I hope the pacing is better this season. I feel like most of the first half of season 5 was characters talking about what they were going to inevitably do in the final 3 episodes over and over and over again. Coming after season 4 which had a bunch of plotlines resolve themselves over the course of the entire season made it extra jarring.

Dems have a pretty solid advantage in the electoral college so I don't quite get all the fearmongering about Sanders being unable to win the general. I'm kind of in the Trump camp because he seems plausibly terrible enough to fast track armageddon and I'd love front row tickets for the end of the world.

I'm not sure why you think random pubbers would have such a strong affinity for highlander. I imagine the overwhelming majority of TF2 players have never touched competitive so Valve doesn't really have much to worry in terms of whether or not they alienate people. Ignoring all the logistical nightmares that make highlander extremely unattractive, I'm still not sure why Valve would choose it from a purely gameplay perspective. At its core, TF2 is a game with both general classes like soldier and specialized classes like spy where you can change class at will to fit the situation at hand. To remove that ability and force certain players to play a specialized class that may be suboptimal or largely ineffective most of the time depending on the map seems pretty dumb. I don't see a single angle where supporting highlander with matchmaking makes sense from Valve's end.
