I preemptively apologize if this sounds like a blog. I just need some advice.
So my hip started bothering me a couple days ago, and I just shrugged it off. Yesterday however, it started becoming painful and I began to limp. I noticed that there was a leg discrepancy; my right leg was significantly (1cm or more?) longer than my left. Along with that, there was the pain in my right hip, so I had to bend it constantly due to its length and the pain.
This alleviated most of my problems, but because of the uselessness of my right leg, I had to put a lot of pressure onto my left, causing my heel to always be driven down. I noticed some pain in my left knee today. My sister thought it was SCFE, and recommended I go to the orthopedist, and I did today. My doctor also thought SCFE was likely and he sent me to the orthopedist. Got an x-ray, and I'll be getting my results tomorrow.
I'd like to ask a couple questions to people who might have or had this problem or anyone who has had surgery in their life.
For people who have/had SCFE:
1. How did you get treated? If you had to get the pin put inside you, did it hurt (after surgery)?
2. Were crutches or any device (cane, wheelchair, etc) needed? P.S. I'm currently using a cane.
3. This is the scary part for me. When you had the nail in you, how did it feel..? Could you feel it in your hip? And how long does it stay in there? I'm absolutely terrified about that.
For people have had surgery:
1. Were there any problems after the procedure? How much have scars from incisions affected you?
