how are players going to be motivated to get better now? Forget all the other reasons but every player thats ever wanted to beat froyotech in some sort of form dont have it. How can you be motivated to become the best when the best are not allowed to be the best. Yes its tf2 so marketability is more of a joke, now I could be completely wrong but I am sure when games were being casted froyotechs would be the most viewed because within TF2 they are the most popular team. Not only are you lowering the skill ceiling but you are limiting the potential exposure to your league and therefore TF2. On top of that now when any person within the esports scene outside of TF2 here this its only going to make it more of a joke to them. Honestly if we want to grow this game we have to treat it like any other Esport and any other industry/ business. Yes people will still play it because of the money but its just disappointing that a league that was different and yes maybe people didnt like it but it gave TF2 a different flavour, I enjoyed watching it every now and then but I can gaurentee everyone that saw potential in this league is now very minimal.
Surely if we can put on a good show we can keep some of these viewers right? or are these botted?

Sorry if theres already something on this.
its sorta not the question but players who were at the top would be able to come back and have the ability to get there again if they really wanted too. Bringing the old meta directly to compare would be hard, just get all the old invite players in their own league where they dont have to adapt to the new meta and can play the old game until they arent rusty, then put them up against current teams and then we would actually be able to see but thats never going to happen.
I guess the closest thing we have seen to this was when AU meta met eu and na and vise versa. So to try and go back to the question is that old players wouldn't be as mechanically as sound as they used to be and would naturally adapt to the meta instead of having the raw skill to be able to play with the old meta. I would assume that the "old meta" wouldnt work anymore because otherwise top players who have been playing throughout all the changes would be playing the same way now.
I dont even know if any of this makes sense, probably just went off topic.
