Did my first "real" hud edit today: Added boxes for HP/Ammo in Flathud. It's not so hard! And I suppose now I can do it to any HUD I like.

Loving the look of Flathud. I do find myself wondering if it would be possible to have a constant box for HP/ammo that turns red/green when appropriate, instead of no background unless hurt/buffed. I'm reasonably proficient in changing stuff myself, but I'm not super sure what do do here.
I assume I would change something in HudPlayerHealth.res?
EDIT: Never mind! Just added an image panel in the Ammo and Health res files, lovely. I think I can do that to any HUD I like, now.

Oh my god I need it.
Not enough boxed huds these days, it's all plain white numbers.
How do I change the rotation of the 3d class model? I assume it's something in hudplayerclass.res but I have no idea how to do it. I like having a small model like yahud but i don't like the position on the hud or the rotation of the character.
EDIT: nvm, I found it. It's per-class.
New question: How do I stop the model being cut off?
Holy hell, I wish this hud got updated - it's fucking beautiful!
tf/custom/hud/materials/console.
Get a program that can edit .vtf files and replace the images with one more suited to your liking.
EDIT: scratch that, I have no idea. The backgrounds seem to work when tf2 is booting up or otherwise loading, but it's like there's a dark layer covering the whole thing.

Edit these wide and tall values to make the box its in bigger, allowing more space on screen to move the number farther. Those controls decide how big the box is that it's in. Make it 0 wide 0 tall and you see nothing. Make it 1000 wide 1000 tall its much bigger and you can move the killstreak number farther.
Thank you. I'll try that now.
zookeywhats the .res file called for the streak counter usually in the bottom left in the default hud?
Mr_Harvardzookeywhats the .res file called for the streak counter usually in the bottom left in the default hud?huditemeffectmeter_killstreak.res or somthing like that in the resource/ui folder
I was just about to answer that, as I've been working with it for the last half hour trying to move my killstreak counter.
I'm using rayshud, and I'd really like to be able to move the counter and label somewhere a little more visible, as well as hopefully make the killstreak notice when you get 5 kills not cut off longer names.
Whenever I try to move the counter, it just disappears. It seems as if there's a small panel like a selection in an image editing program where the counter is visible, and if moved off of that panel, it becomes invisible.
Oh god, thank you. Now I can see teleporter charge and uber% as a demoknight.
I've noticed a few things that bug me.
I use a Demoknight loadout a lot, and I've noticed that the charge bar on my HUD interferes with the text I get when I put my crosshair over someone on my team. Sometimes other things overlap in that spot, but that's what I notice most. So charge bars could use dropped down a bit.

Another thing is purely cosmetic, but I've noticed some weird shapes in the highlight over the team selection menu. When I hover over a join-team button, it looks funny.

And one last thing; would there be any way to make darkened boxes for health/ammo?
I fucking love Pratchett's Discworld. I've read most of them, too - the Moist von Lipwig books are *excellent*. Just like apparently everyone else, the Watch books are my favourite, and if you get the chance, read Thief of Time.
I love 5MD hud, except for one little thing - no outline on the floating damage numbers. I'm sure an older version had it, is there any way I could have outlined damage numbers again?
So I put that into the file you named? EDIT: I got it, its cool.
Thanks, by the way. I had no need for 2 scoreboard buttons and quickplay was my life. It was literally my only problem with HUDAS.
Huh. This thing made Avira go nuts. Can someone confirm that it's clean?
In the event that I do use this (which is certainly possible), could someone teach me how to add a quickplay button to HUDAS Iscariote?
From the screenshot there, it looks plenty possible.
