I would like to attend both, but my biggest problem would be bringing a computer. I know shipping or buying a laptop could solve the problem, but renting a PC feels more straightforward. The easiest way (for me) to get to these events would be flying and knowing that I got a PC helps tremendously.
I guess i'd need to get in touch with future attendees and see if they have spares.
For those who still have esea a few people are trying to revive them.
It doesn't matter what league you play in. Join the group to know when we are looking to play.

Anyone wanna split a hotel or have a place to crash?
ringer confirmed
I need to get rides to/from the airport and a place to crash. I don't mind sharing a hotel if that's my only option. Other than that, I'll book it my flight asap.
I've tested every way possible with motd_entries
One "motd_entries" in tf/cfg = works
One "motd_entries" in tf/custom = works
Two "motd_entries" in tf/cfg & tf/custom = Works if the edited file is tf/custom
Two "motd_entries" in tf/cfg & custom = Doesnt work if the edited file is tf/cfg
I've also made a video to make it easier.
Does evehud hide the menu buttons? I know my manu button is invisible and I have to click blindly for that widget button.
I had this problem when I first tested it out but it was a bit different. My file kept overwriting because I was changing the motd_entries file in the tf/cfg and not the tf/custom.
I never deleted the tf/cfg motd_entries file, but it worked when the tf/custom file was changed. Try making a motd_entries file in your tf/custom, and not touching the one in your tf/cfg. That's how I got my news feed to stop overwriting.
Edit: I only have motd_entries in my tf/custom and not my root tf/cfg. My bad.
Remove all previous work on tf2 and reread the first post.
MasterKuni figured out a way to revamp the news widget in a way that will open up windows in the steam community overlay (Shift+Tab). Steam overlay also has flash, so we can do way more than we could with motd windows.
Here's how this thing works:
In the motd_entries file, if you change the last_request_time to a date that will never be reached, the file doesn't update. So, we now have a window on the main menu that can be dedicated to IRC, streams, and more. We can also add custom images/text to the news widget, so that's sick.
One thing to note. If you have a custom cfg folder, make sure to either delete motd_entries or change motd_entries with this zip file
MK hit it on the head, but I'm about to nail it to the ground.
Kuni and Rays have already laid down the foundation for something that could have been created years ago. No disrespect, but that useless idea was the impetus to have a working template within a few hours. Instead of three people working on a premature idea, why not post the blueprints for everyone and get this fixed and operational today.
VoloderI'd be interested in helping make this more viable. Do you want people to just work on this on their own and post results in the thread?
I would throw the edits on here or add me on steam. Whatever is more convenient.
ghettoWhen you close the window are you still added up and can you still hear the notifications when the bot is kicking someone or teams are picked
If you close any of the windows, you aren't added up anymore.
I'm trying to find a solution that minimizes the motd and makes the window lose focus OR make the motd fall back to the main menu. I would like to have this up and running as soon as possible, but a job slows me down. If anyone wants to help find a solution or optimize this rough draft, just post in this thread. I'll make sure to credit you.
